5great outdoor boots

These boots are great! Very comfortable, and well-constructed. Good value. Not too big, but plenty of room for warm socks.

5great boot--comfortable and warm!
By K. Thompson
I had to return the first pair shipped to me because the left boot was 1/2 a size smaller than the right. The return process was no big deal, and I received the replacement pair before I got around to shipping the first pair back. These boots are light, comfortable, waterproof, and warm. I was just fine with cotton socks in sleet! The sizing seems pretty standard. I'm a woman and wear size 9-9.5. I ordered the Men's size 8, and they have plenty of room for thick socks. The material at the top makes them very easy to pull on and off. I went hiking in them and felt like I had good traction. Great work boot for cold and muddy conditions.

5Just what I needed
By BigRockJohnson
5 stars, for fit, comfort, and quality. Item arrived as promised hella fast too with Amazon Prime. These fit perfect with boot socks, which is what you should be wearing with these. The upper stretches to fit your pants leg and grips it to keep it in. I did some yard work shortly after getting them, cause i could not wait to get some work done, digging, chopping, and hauling, these boots were up to the task and show little wear after. I think i will be happy with these for a while, just in time for rainy season in my hood.Jan 3 2013 Update, the boots are wearing well. the rubber rating is for the temps the rubber will take before cracking, not how cold it insulates up to. I have many compliments on the boots.

4Clean & Simple Design
By M. Stewart
I really like this faucet because of its clean and simple design. It is all stainless steel (unlike some other faucets that have built-in plastic pull-down sprayers). My only complaint is that it is difficult (but not impossible) to adjust to a comfortable temperature for rinsing a sink full of dishes. The slightest movement of the handle from left to right makes the water either too hot or too cold.

5Overall very happy
By Metallikov
I installed this faucet in a Kohler drop-in stainless sink which looks an awful lot like this sink - http://www.amazon.com/KOHLER-K-3361-4-NA-Staccato-Self-Rimming-Kitchen/dp/B000MITYSO/This faucet uses the same cartridge that Delta uses in their more expensive faucets. The faucet extend almost exactly to the middle of the sink and rotates easily across both sinks. I agree with the previous reviewer who mentioned that the faucet can be a little touchy between hot and cold water. Straight back gives a mix of hot and cold, but moving the handle side to side causes it to change pretty quickly to all hot or all cold. It's a bit touchy, it's not all that hard to get different temperatures.Installation was super-easy:1. Drop the escutcheon plate (with attached screws that drop into the side holes) into the sink and tighten it from underneath with these large plastic nuts that spin easily on the screw coming down from above.2. Drop the faucet and supply lines in from above (it comes as one piece).3. Slide the brass washer and nut over the supply lines and tighten. Screw in the locking screws as well.4. Attach supply lines. The supply lines are color coded on the ends (red-hot, blue-cold), and are PEX tubing with compression fittings that do not require plumbers tape. Instructions mention to be careful about overtightening the compression fitting.5. Turn on the water and see if it works. Mine did. It took longer to remove the old faucet than it took to install the new one.I'm a pretty happy camper.

3Too short...
By jw48335
The actual water dispenser hole looks a lot higher online. As it turns out it was lower than my old el-cheapo faucet I was replacing. It would have been nice if it was 2 inches higher. As it is, there just isn't much clearance under this one. I returned it.

We still do not know what this is for, but when we ordered our rain head shower and hand held shower, Delta said this was necessary. It looks absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to install it in September when we do our bathroom. It is a beautiful piece of Polished Chrome.

4Bandai's usual
By Moknbyrd
Like the other Sentai toys from Bandai, this one doesn't disappoint too much. Good quality plastic and well constructed. But being a child of the 80's, I long for the days of Bandai's GoDaikin series. Metal base structure and hard, chrome plastic accessories. How disappointing when Bandai decided to swap to ABS structure and flimsy, blunt, PVC plastic accessories. Other than that, it's Bandai's usually good quality.

4nice solid faucet , instructions incomplete
By technodude
nice looking faucet,,,instructions were not complete (eschucian plate instructions were very vauge) installatin may require some extra hands--holding faucet while tightening underneath. Faucet looks nice. Seems to be solidly constructed. spray is a "blast",,soap dispenser works well, but top is plastic and not metal like it looks in the picture. Faucet has good pressure (was worried that the 1.5 gallons per minute water flow would be a big difference from the old 2.2 gallons per min. faucet,,but the volume of water seems to be MORE! Mine was $199 at lowes. I have installed hundreds of faucets, and this one to be honest , had some cussing included. Water supply lines are already attached, two feet long and made of plastic. Sure hope they hold up. Faucet says it has a lifetime warranty. I'm gonna hold 'em to it.

4Works Great!
By Stephanie Macuga
I spent way more time than necessary choosing a faucet for a kitchen renovation, and in the end I am very happy with this one. The neck height is perfect for cleaning tall pots and the spray nozzle so far has been my favorite feature. The magnet seems to keep the nozzle safely "snapped" to the neck when not in use, and though I've only had it about a month, I would purchase this again. As other reviewers have stated, the soap dispenser is just plastic, and though it looks great, I could see it getting easily broken if used heavily.

4Nice faucet but pretty tall
By BethC
Overall, this is a very nice faucet. Our sink faces out to the living room and this faucet, although it doesn't block the view, is rather tall. You can't quite tell that from the picture, although maybe it does give the height in the specs (didn't check that before we bought it). The components and look however are on par with what you would expect from a Delta. Also, the magnetic pull-down feature is nice, but I have already caught my husband just leaving it dangling (which is why I had reserves in the first place with this pull-down feature), so you do actually have to make an effort to put it back. The spray and full force features are nice and easily switched between by pushing a button on the back.

This is a great shoe for Oregon's rainy winters. Comfortable, durable, great tread and water resistant. The fit is perfect for an athletic shoe. In dress shoes I wear an 8, but in athletic/sport shoes I usually wear an 8.5-9. I got an 8.5 and it fits perfect.

5Delightful Product
By AgedWireHead
I purchased this with some trepidation for a kitchen remodel. I was leaning toward two other manufacturer's products that cost more than twice as much, but my wife liked this design. I have had numerous experiences with older Delta faucets that require relatively frequent maintenance and did not continue looking good throughout their life. As the custom cabinets, granite counter top and under-mount stainless steel sink were installed my trepidations increased. The moment of truth came to install the new Delta Ashton 19922-SSSD-DST faucet and I opened the box. What a delightful surprise!First, Delta thoughtfully included everything needed for the installation except for the Silicone II Plumbing Caulk I like to use to set plumbing fittings and a wrench for the compression fittings. Quality, fit, and finish was excellent. The instructions are clear, even though they are on large format paper, with instructions for several models interspersed. I recommend taking a yellow marker to these instructions and circling the entries appropriate for the model you have purchased. The entries are clearly marked, but the model names don't differ enough to be quickly differentiated. After I marked the entries the instructions were quite short.Following the instructions I assembled and installed the unit in minutes. I have installed a number of kitchen faucets, but I think most reasonably careful folks can install this unit in just about the same time. They even include a nice wrench to reach up behind the sink to tighten the mounting nut. It does not require strength or a lot of plumbing knowledge, just thought and a little body flexibility. The first issue one comes to is the mounting method. For a single-hole mounting, such as on an under mount sink, one simply discards the 3-hole cover (escutcheon) and the reinforcing plate. If you are replacing a faucet on a triple-hole, top-mount sink, your choices are a bit more complex. If you have a heavy sink you can just use the escutcheon and reinforcing plate. If your sink is very light you can purchase an extra reinforcing plate for the underside of the sink from Delta. Information is on the instruction sheet. 3 CM thick granite is more than strong enough to support this faucet with no extra reinforcement. I would be careful to reinforce any 2 CM thick slab underneath the counter to prevent a high-rise faucet like this from cracking the slab due to an inadvertent sideways push, something that seems bound to happen sometime. Any high-rise faucet has tremendous leverage to exert pressure on its mount.Inserting the hose into the unit is very easy. There is a plastic bead that you insert in the end of the hose to help it glide through the unit, then you remove the bead. The PEX supply tubing feels stiff, but it is easy to bend into a loop if one is needed. Keep the loop loose to prevent kinking. The tubes may also be cut and compression fittings were provided (and instructions) if this is necessary. It connects to 1/4 inch compression fittings, usually at a stop (valve). There is a special tool provided to remove the aerator from the spray head when needed. It is designed to clip onto a tube under the sink so it will always be available when you need it. You do not want to loose this, as getting the aerator out without it will be very difficult. There are a few other items worth mentioning. The spray head controls are three buttons (two are on a "rocker"). The rocker switches from a "normal" stream to a shower spray and back. The other button doubles the water flow in the "normal" stream, which makes a huge difference when filling pots or the sink. As soon as the water is turned off the flow rate returns to its normal lower setting automatically. Another option is the ability to set a limiter that prevents turning on extremely hot water. The spray head works quite well pulled down into the sink and hanging free. This dramatically lessens the inevitable splashing when washing dishes. The valve works smoothly and with very little practice I was getting a very fine control over flow rate and temperature. It is easy to carelessly turn off the valve and not get it fully off due to this fine control, so a little attention to this will train you to turn it off every time.Make sure you follow the instructions to flush the unit before installing the spray head. You will save yourself some headaches. The magnets that hold the spray head in place work well, although they aren't quite as strong as some reviews I read led me to believe. Turning the head 1/4 turn causes the magnets to repel the head away from its seat if your units seems to have stronger magnets. The soap dispenser is mostly plastic (as I would expect because the reservoir is most of the unit.) It is tough and works great for us. Installation was a snap. Although the reservoir is easy to unscrew from the bottom, that is not the way to refill it. Just pull straight up on the pump to remove it and refill the unit from above. Since the reservoir is translucent a glance underneath will tell you how much soap remains. Pump action seemed odd to me at first, but I now find it convenient. If you are trying to get just a little soap out, say to wash your hands or charge a sponge, the pump nods forward slightly when you press with your thumb and puts out just the right amount--a tiny amount. But if you use the heel of your hand and pump more directly down a significant blob emerges. My experience with this unit is using undiluted standard green Palmolive, so it may behave differently with other brands of liquid. So, this unit was a lot more quality than I expected. With a little experience I find that I have no negatives, although I thought I would not like the soap dispenser when I installed it. Amazing deal for the price!UPDATE October 10, 2012I have been asked about "flushing the unit" and about maintenance.Flushing means running a few gallons of water through the unit prior to installing the spray head. This removes any trash in the pipes, valves, and hose before the spray head with all of its small orifices is installed. Run enough water to flush both the cold and hot-water lines all the way back to the hot-water heater and water supply.Maintenance is required with any valve, regardless how expensive it is or if it is solid stainless steel. What maintenance is required depends more upon the mineral content in your water and how often you use it and clean it than what it is made of.If you have very soft water (with no dissolved minerals and no suspended particulates, very rare for a water supply) your maintenance may be less than others. What kind of maintenance is required?1. Suspended particulates. All sorts of tiny particles can be suspended in your water. This is often tiny bits of sand and ferrous (Iron) oxide. The Iron Oxide usually comes from the inside of the pipes in your house if you have steel pipes. Suspended particles work havoc on aerators and washers, although they also tend to scour (scratch) the inside of all of the plumbing. Maintenance primarily is removing the particulates caught in aerator screens and replacing parts worn by moving particulates and water.2. Disolved minerals. Various Calcium compounds are often dissolved in our water, along with many other compounds. Maintenance problems occur when these molecules precipitate (come out of solution) from the water. Various things cause this to happen. One of them is heat. More Calcium-based molecules fit in cold water than in warm water. Ground water is cold (say 54 degrees F) when it dissolves the calcium and much warmer when it moves through your plumbing, so the calcium molecules drop out of solution in warmer water. Thus, you get Calcium (lime) build up all around your plumbing. It is especially troubling around small openings and valves. The easiest fix for this is often white vinegar and heat. For example, a spray head can be removed from the faucet and placed in warmed white vinegar. Let it soak, stirring occasionally until the minerals have been dissolved.Minerals also precipitate from water because various chemicals are more attractive than water. Soap is one of these chemicals. Thus, soap combined with calcium can form a nearly indestructible coating on tile, porcelain, stainless steel, etc. Often, this coating can be removed with white vinegar and a bit of non-abbrasive scrubbing. Barkeepers Friend (R) is great for removing this from stainless.3. Water. Water is both abrasive and corrosive. Pressurized water easily cuts steel, rock, bronze and brass. It slices through rubber. There is a lot of water that moves through a valve, especially if you use it a lot. The more water that moves, and the faster it moves, the more destruction it does. The only fix for water abrasion is to replace the worn part.Picking a valve for minimal and easy maintenance means knowing something about your own water. Look at old valves and see what the problems are, then look for products that fix those problems. For example, a stainless steel exterior can help keep faucets gleaming, but the interior may not be required to be stainless. A PEX tube is ideal for running all sorts of water through it (PEX is Polyethylene Cross-link), it is tough, very pressure resistant, non-splitting, and flexible. But it isn't ideal for the outside of a faucet. So this faucet uses it to hold the water from the supply to the valve and from the valve to the spray head. The outside of the faucet is stainless steel. The valve is ceramic, ideal for a low-maintenance valve. To protect the tube from the valve to the spay head, multiple layers are used including stainless steel braid.I find the engineering of this valve to be top-knotch and state-of-the-art. It is thoughtfully assembled. You will need to perform maintenance on the spray head. There is a toggle activating a valve that switches between spray and aerator. Mineral deposits will build in the cracks around the toggle. Above the toggle there is a "double the flow rate" button. The same is true for this. The aerator and spray orifices will eventually foul from mineral deposits. The outside stainless steel body will require cleaning (Barkeepers Friend).Eventually, all valves need to be replaced. You will probably want to do it as a matter of style before this valve is toast. The only negative I can ding this valve with now is that some people do not have a strong enough grip to fully flip the toggle between spray and aerator without concentrating. Thus the spray will be anemic. Cleaning the spray head in a warm white vinegar bath seems to improve this, however, it seems more related to mechanical advantage and hand strength. A sufferer of Arthritis might not want to flip the toggle very often.

5Happy to be first review
By Paul Sferratore
I have been looking to replace my poor performing faucet for some time. Over the holiday break, I took my wife to Lowes to see what she liked. This Delta 19922-SSSD was $258 and we both liked the styling and the features. We thought the side mounted handle was odd but seems to be common these days. I check Amazon and was surprised at how much cheaper it was. It arrived in 2 days with Prime and I installed this weekend. The old clunker took 30 minutes to remove because of the number of pipes going through a single mounting nut. The new one has a mounting bracket that doesn't have to go around the pipes so it look less than 10 minutes to install. Great design. The instructions make everything seem more complicated because it is for numerous models and languages. My family is quite happy with the look and function. I would certainly recommend

4Great faucet!
By Candace Coyle
Great overall faucet! It replaced a cheaper off-brand faucet that was wearing out after only two years. I figured this time I wouldn't skimp out and actually buy a higher quality, brand-name faucet. Did some shopping in a local hardware store to find this one was upwards $250, while Amazon had it for $190 + Free Shipping. Worked for me!PROS:- Magnet for center hose keeps things in snugly place... simple, yet brilliant.- Install was easy. (I would disregard the very frustrated reviewer below as it seemed more like he/she did not really know what they were doing. Fair enough, but don't knock the product when it is operator error. Took you over ten times to feed the center hose...... really.....???)- Good spray settings with even spray.- Handle gives good feedback and accurate water temperature positioning.- Plastic pipes make for better tasting water -vs- metal.- Delta brand quality + lifetime warranty!CONS:- As others have stated, the plastic pipes are not very flexible which can be nerve racking that you don't damage them during install if needing to loop. Just be careful and you'll be fine.- Plastic soap dispenser. While it matches the faucet well and isn't too cheap feeling, the idea of it being plastic just makes me shrug. All in all, a great faucet that doesn't cost $400+. At this price point you can't have everything, but this faucet gives more than enough for the average homeowner. I only give four stars as I do feel the stiff plastic pipes could pose a problem for some installers that don't have much plumbing experience... and knowing a little about plumbing I know it could be done slightly different from a manufacturing standpoint with very little difference in cost to the consumer. As with most DIY projects, just be careful and take your time during the install and you'll be fine.

By Angie S.
i needed a pair of hiking boots days before an arizona trip, and i was concerned these boots would be uncomfortable since i didn't have ample time to break them in-- guess i didn't have to; they were comfy and breathe well. additionally, they offer the traction i needed when hiking varied terrain.

5Great hiking shoes
By cathy
Purchased these for a recent trip to Yosemite. I hiked for five days and was amazed at how comfortable they were. No break in period ...comfortable right out of the box. Traction on bottom is very good for rough trails with good grip. Some snow on the ground and shoes stayed dry.... Highly recommend these!!

5Dry, Supported, Comfortable
By S&RsMom
As an active Cub Scout mom, I frequently find myself in wet and rugged situations. These boots are great. I tromped through muddy trails for an hour today in the rain and my feet stayed dry the entire time. They are comfortable and look good on. They look good with my scout leader uniform and are light and comfortable enough to wear to meetings or other activities. I got these boots at a steal - $100 less than retail price - but would recommend them even at the regular price.

1Poor quality
By Rose M. Torres
This product did not look out of the box as it did in picture. It appears to be made of cheap materials and attached supply lines are made of plastic.

5Finally, a faucet designed for the DIY'er
By MYC
Buy this over the store brand/no name faucet that costs the same, you won't regret it.As a career DIY'er with relatively "extensive" experience installing and repairing a number of fixtures throughout the years, Delta has finally designed a budget replacement kitchen faucet that's of high quality for the price and geared for quick and easy installation.Traditionally, kitchen fixtures never came with supply lines, which meant you had to go and buy them yourself. Of course, the lines would never be the correct length or the correct fitting on one end or both, which means going back for the correct one. The hookup procedure would be a guesswork as well as the faucet installation since the instruction brochures rivaled Ikea manuals. Then, good luck figuring out how the fixture actually goes into the sink. And if you don't have a basin wrench, get ready for another trip to the store because it's not happening with a regular wrench. All in all, installing the faucet would take minimum three trips to the hardware store. Mind you, this was for the Glacier Bay or whatever cheapest faucet you could find at the big box store, which costs about the same as this one.I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened the box - not only does this faucet already have supply lines attached with pre-installed compression fittings (literally all you have to do is stick the end in your shutoff valve and screw), but the physical sink attachment was plain and simple. They even supply a wrench (saved you a trip to the store and $20 on a basin wrench!) with the nut ALREADY INSERTED in the wrench. It was almost an insult to a DIY plumber because part of the "fun" was trying to get the nut on the bolt in all of the 3" of space behind the sink.It looks like Delta finally realized not all of their customers are contractors but many have never touched a supply line before much less replaced a faucet. And compared to other faucets of the same price, the build quality of this is dang solid. Save yourself the trouble and headache and buy Delta. You'll be regretting it if you didn't on your fifth trip to the hardware store.

5Nice and fairly easy to install
By Jef
Lets face it replacing this is never easy. This fit my house's lines which is a really old house. I was surprised to see how expensive these things are but this was a good price compared to others.

3Hoped these were "the ones"
By M. Schnaithmann
I have trouble finding the perfect hiking boot for me. My heals have a tendency to get hot spots then usually blister or simply shred. Lovely I know. Keep in mind most of the hikes I take are only around 2-4 miles or so. Nothing heavy and no over niters. So here is my pros and cons list for these boots:Pros:Very lightweight, so they're easy to feel light footed on the trails or rocks! I have one other pair of boots which are great with a few exceptions, but they're quite heavy compared to these. These don't make your legs feel tired so fast which is really nice.Vibram sole so they're stickier on most surfaces(but lets be real, EVERYTHING slips on certain things, i.e. loose rock or gravel on a slope, wet lightly mossy rocks). There are two sets of laces so if something happens to one you can easily change it or if you don't like the red laces that come on them you can switch them out for the extra grey ones.I like the toe bumper too. All my other boots got scuffs and cuts from rocks and whatever I may trip on out on the trails. I've read some say before their boots started coming apart at the edge of that bumper but so far mine haven't, but I'm also not a heavy duty hiker or rough on things(aside from tripping on roots or nothing at all!).I like the feel of the sole. They're not as soft and flexible as a sneaker but not as rigid as a backpacking boot. They're somewhere in between so you can still feel the ground contours but have a little support. They're Gore-tex so your feet stay dry. I've never had an issue with anything of mine with Gore-tex, getting wet where some have. I guess its like everything though, it can't always be perfect. I haven't had good luck with a shoe brand specific water proofing in the past so I tend to shy away from it if its not Gore-tex. Why mess with a good thing when its always worked for ya?This may sound funny to some but I also liked the lacing tubules(or whatever you'd like to call them) and hooks. They felt sturdy. I have others that feel like they're gonna tear if you really yard on the laces or anything.Size was perfect. I find a lot of boots I wind up getting bigger than my normal 8.5 size due to style. Very irritating. I have a hard time accepting that my feet are that big when shoe stores have told me I should be a 7.5. As we get older we get shorter, so is that extra height going into our feet making them bigger?! I'm not even that old yet!Cons:I still get blisters or shredded heals! I've been through quite a few boots to find a pair that doesn't make me cushion and tape up my heals before I throw on a pair of socks and go(this gets quite expensive in the long run of things). I've also tried liner socks which still didn't eliminate the problem. Sigh.Tread is pretty good but I'd like it to be a little deeper. I usually find men's boots have really decent tread where most ladies boots are on the shallower side. I don't get that.My feet slid forward in the boots going downhill. Even after tightening the laces to help with this I still have sore piggies after. I also don't feel the toe box is quite right. It feels a little more tapered than it should. My little piggies on both feet bump the side even just walking on a flat surface and once I start the decent they all take a little beating. This isn't really a con but I don't know where to put it; the top lace hook bothers my leg just above my ankle so I tend to not lace that one. I'll stop at the one just below. this way I still have ankle support but no leg bruising from the top of the boot. I find that to be much more comfortable in all the boots I've tried that are just a little on the taller side.So after all that would I recommend them? Yes, because the problems I have may not be problems for others. These are just issues I've come across or pet peeves I have. Hope this helps!

5Sturdy, light and comfortable all day long
By Gail P
These hikers are terrific, and I anticipate they'll be the last pair I will ever need to purchase, they're that versatile and well made. I used them extensively for the first time yesterday all day long for a strenuous hike over varied mountain terrain at 5,000 feet. My feet were practically the only parts of my body that wasn't achey 6 hours and 8 miles later!! With a pair of top quality (i.e.$10-$15/pair) day hike socks, these boots made me feel like I was walking on clouds. The best things about this boot, besides its top quality manufacture, are the strength and support provided to the ankle, and the light weight--these boots are so light, they don't weigh you down by lugging around big old clunky things. Their light weight will make them appropriate for hiking in warm climates as well, a huge plus. The materials and workmanship are top notch. They are true to size. I'm thrilled with my new Vasques!!

1So Disappointed
By Chari
My old Vasque hiking boots, made in Italy, always fit perfectly right out of the box. The ones I'm returning, made in China, don't fit anything like the Italian made boots. In particular, they are pressing on and killing my right little toe. I like the style, but the pain is unbearable. And why does the left boot fit, but not the right? I agree with others that said the Chinese-made Vasques don't fit like the former Italian-made. I would be willing to pay more to get something well-made in Italy that fit comfortably.
