Great for a garden

This Quictent 12x7x7 is basically a "Quick Tent" that's essentially half inch thick hollow metal bars that create a basic tent structure + a tarp that velcros onto the metal bar legs.Installation Process & TimeIt takes about 2 minutes to sort all the metal bars, 30 seconds to understand the instructions, 5 minutes to get the top bars assembled together, an excruciating 10 minutes to get the tarp over the whole thing (it is HUGE when laying on the ground), another 5 minutes to get the bottom bars all in correctly... and you're done. Just go around and attach the velcro to all the metal bars, and make sure your tarp is centered. It's not the 5 minute setup they claim, all in all its about 25 minutes from unboxing to completion.Extra StepsThere are three sheets of paper printed out with directions and information, which come with this Quictent. They recommend using some outdoor building anchors and attaching a cable to the top bar of each leg (4 in total on each side) to the anchor, inside of the tent (not outside). Or you can use weights, which I'm not as big a fan of. They also say if you dont want to do either, you can screw in the top metal bars so they are "permanently attached". I do not know how well that would hold up in strong wind and rain, or against snow, but at least if the structure was going to fall, it would mostly be in one piece and hopefully wouldn't rip the tarp covering. What I did is drilled small holes into each top bar where the leg mounted inside, and then put a screw in so that it went through both metal bars (leg slides up into the top bar - I basically put a screw so the leg cannot come back out). I did NOT screw all the way through both sides, because that would expose the screw to the outside, puncturing the tarp. It is EASY to puncture this tarp. My drill slipped and the screw went right through the tarp. I used some clear packaging tape on both sides of the hole to cover it up. The hole was about 1/5", not a big deal. After I put the screws to hold the legs into the top bars, I also bought some in ground anchors and cables and attached them to the top bars.Pros1) 6 "windows"2) Double zippered front entrance3) Tarp feels solid and has plenty of stitching (though is easy to puncture, the rips may not continue on thanks to the stitching)4) Setup time under 30 minutes5) Does not REQUIRE flat surface. I put mine on a slight slope, and thanks to the metal bars having enough flex in them I was able to set it up so it almost looks completely flat.6) Feels FirmCons1) If snow sits on the top of this, it will collapse2) If a good, strong wind catches the side, it will lift it up and potentially twist and bend the structure3) If you have a weed eater, keep it AWAY from this! It will chop up the tarp easily.4) Price. $135 shipped is too much for this structure. I would expect to find something like this at Garden Ridge for $40-$50, $75 MAX.In SummaryIf you're looking for a big greenhouse thats quick to setup and holds plenty of vegetables, this will do the trick just fine.

Ok for the price, but plans did not grow well inside

I bought this last November, and the installation was easy.It took me about 20 min, and I am not a very capable man. I worried about the wind, but it was Ok with 25 MPH wind a few times. We did not have stronger wind in the last a few month. The greenhouse was Ok, and I liked the look, and the price. The temperature was at least a few degrees higher than outside. but I find the vegetables did not grow well inside the greenhouse. Sun light is blacked, I am thinking that was the cause.Maybe it is good for plants that do not need much sunshine.

Love our portable greenhouse

This portable greenhouse has saved our plants from the cold winters. It is easy to put up and we can store several house plants and plants we normally keep outside nicely tucked in. It's great for weather in Alabama, not sure how it would hold up in the Northern states where temps usually get much colder, but for down south it is perfect and inexpensive.
