4Good pressure and great look!
By MommaDriz
We just installed this shower yesterday. Six people took showers after the install already, and everyone said it was very comfortable. We chose this shower because of the water usage (half the regular water use). We have 3 teenagers, with a boy that takes just as long as the girls. We've tried many (about 6) different kinds of water saving shower heads, and although the feeling of guilt was great, stuck the high output showerheads back in because of comfort and usage. Some shower heads wouldn't even wash off the shampoo without much difficulty. This showerhead, however, does a good job. The jets occilate to make it feel like a lot more water is coming out. It's not like your spa showers out there, but it is more than sufficient. We chose this head because of the look as well. It's clean and can blend in with any kind of tile style you have. It may look very masculine, but it's mostly just highly decorative. Very recommended!

4Does the trick
By Eldonsdad
Step was easy to assemble and install and works as described. Instructions themselves were not very good but just threw them aside and easily figured it out. My only concern is how the step itself will hold up over time. The arm and mechanism seem well built and strong but the step doesn't seem all that great. Only time will tell.

5handy step
By John A. Altemus
Lots of fun geting the twelve year old nuts off, cuss words help. My super duty 350 is very high and being in my seventies make it a chore to get into the bed. The step is the best way and flips down out of the way when not in use.

5Cool square shower head
By Callaghan
The tub spout is a little chunky and clunky but the large square shower head totally makes up for it and then some. I have this in my guess bath shower and everyone who uses the shower comments on it. Very stylish. Great stainless steel finish.

5Simply Awesome!!
By Jim C
I bought these as a replacement for my stock side steps and they are awesome! The steps extend instantly when the door is open and retract just as quickly when the doors are shut. The steps fit flush underneath the truck and are out of view when not in use. They will not get hung up on any obstructions when off road. The step lights are adequate for lighting the steps at night, but it would've been nicer to see an LED rope option that ran the length of the step instead of the the 2 stick-on-lights per side. So far the lights are still sticking and the 3M stick-on-tape seems to be holding but I don't expect it to last over years of use especially on the outside of the vehicle.Having children I was concerned about accidental closing, in case one of the kids stepped through the open area between the step and truck or someone had an arm or something through the opening when the door was shut. Safety precautions have been incorporated into the design to prevent accidental closing or opening when there is an obstruction. Saw a youtube demonstration and tested it out my self and it is very safe.Installation was fairly easy and the hardest part was just finding the vehicle wiring to tap into. The instructions were very well laid out. I was able to complete the install in a couple hours from start to finish. The steps are very sturdy and very well made. I'm over 200 lbs and have never felt the steps were not strong enough, even when two people are standing on the steps at the same time.Of all the modifications i have made to my truck, this has to be my favorite and draws the most compliments.Highly recommend!

5Powerstep for Tundra Crewmax
By Jeff
I am very pleased with my Powerstep purchase. It arrived quickly and in good condition. I was not brave, so I found an authorized installer in town. I could not be happier with the product so far. (It's been 2 weeks now.) My wife and son are now able to easily get into the Tundra, which was a bit of a problem before. One thing to note with the Powerstep on the Tundra that the installer mentioned. Apparently he had received a complaint about this. The rails do not extend all the way forward to the front wheelwell as they may on other models, but only to where the front door starts to flare outward (if you look at the front door, you'll see what I mean). To me, it looks and works great.

This is a great product. I installed these bad boys in about 7 hours but that is because I am perfectionist when it comes to installs. But if you follow instructions and take your time it is pretty easy. These guys are definate head turners and will definately give you that WOW factor! Good job AMP, oh and their support team is a plus!

5Nice product
By M. Oswald
I installed this about a month ago. I replaced the faucets with some high tech danze faucets but needed shower trim that was compatible with what was previously installed. This was the closest thing I could find that would match with my sleek danze products and it blends with them very well. The handle is easy to use and maintain control of temperature. It cleans up well, water spots are easily removed and is overall a nice heavy, quality, product. Easy to install.

5New Sony 3D KDL-55NX810, Excellence
By D. Mcdermott
Just received this new Sony and it is everything Sony claims it to be. Absolutely the best picture I have seen in a LCD TV and better than my 3 yr old 46XBR4 that had the fluorescent backlighting. This NX has a dynamic(local dimming) edge lit LED, and the contrast and blacks are excellent. The 3D is stunning with little ghosting, even with 3D set for max effect. I coupled this NX810 with Sony's new Blu-RAy S770, and the picture is stunning, as good or better than any theater, and better than my previous LCD TV combo. I have noticed that the NX810 could be brighter. I find myself using the 'vivid" picture setting during the day as the TV display was darker than desired when using standard or custom and lacked bright colors. As such, I can not use the cinema scene setting or theater mode during daylight and some DVDs with lots of 'dark scenes' do not show well with simulated 3D during daylight periodsMy one complaint is that the sound is not what you would expect from a $3K new Sony. The sound is a cheap sound(tinny),and did not meet by expectations since it has 3 speakers built-in. I ended up adding on the $359 NX810 optional stand (Bushin)(SU-B550S) that includes a better 2.1 sound system to compensate. This one option proved to be worth every penny as the audio is now full and deep.I am still playing with the video settings, but I have noticed that imperfections of the incoming signal are much easier to discern than my previous LCD. In fact on the same broadcast, a bad shimmer in the background, will go away and a brilliant fine detail picture comes on when they shift cameras like in a news broadcastThis NX has wired Ethernet and wireless connectivity, and the streamed HD video from Amazon is excellent. In order for you to stream Dolby 5.1 audio, you must select 'audio system' on speakers to output 5.1 to your surround sound amp or you will only get PCM. The NX has LED edge lighting but with local dimming and it results is great contrast. Not sure if the HX909 full LED array backlighting would result in a much better picture.I also am very happy with the 3D effects. Playing a movie made for 3D, gives you great 3D depth effect, almost as good as the theater. Using simulated 3D on my Avatar Blu-Ray disk resulted in good 3D but the depth was not as good as the movie theater. Trying simulated 3D on sports also added depth to many scenes, especially the football if the camera angle was right. You can buy this TV with a free bundle (various vendors offer the free bundle) that includes everything you need for 3D (transmitter + 2 glasses), plus the bundle gives you a 3D Alice + HDMI cable. So, with the bundle you get everything the LX900 has AND with better picture since the LX is only edge LED with no local dimming.Overall very happy with this purchase. My only complaint is the "tinny" sound-probably because the speakers are on the backside of the TV and directed either backwards or down as compared to my old XBR4 which had great audio quality and had speakers on either side

5Gorgeous Television
By BeccaM
We bought this Sony Bravia NX810 to replace an older Hitachi 1080i HD-DVI projection TV, one which never failed to dominate and totally overpower any room in which we put it, because the cabinet was so huge. Even moving it from one house to another required partial disassembly, and both pieces were mega-heavy. Three factors went into our decision to shop for a new set: We didn't want to move the old one again, save to load it onto a donation truck. Second, although still functional, we were noticing some loss of contrast and fuzziness that no amount of convergence adjustment or cleaning could fix. Finally, Amazon's holiday 'Cyber-Week' discount pricing and combination bundle deals (3D accessory kit w/Alice 3D AND a 160GB 3D-capable PS3, both free) were way too good to pass up.So in my usual meticulous way I checked out all the offers of comparably-sized sets on Amazon, as well as reviews online, and I even made a trip to our local Costco to check out their display sets, so I could see for myself the difference between regular LCD, edge-lit LED LCD, plasma, and DLP televisions. Of all of them, it seemed to me the Sony KDL-55NX810 blew the rest away, with only a few of the plasma models coming even close. Between the Samsung and the Sony 3D set-ups there in the store, I felt the latter had the superior 3D effects and shutter glasses, plus overall the Sony looked to be the better quality.Unlike some folks who bought through Amazon, we had no problem with the Pilot freight shipping. They arrived right within the scheduled time, unboxed the TV, attached it to its base and put it on the cabinet we already had set and ready for it. I had done some prep work, and have a highly customized home theater set-up, so for testing I just took our older Sony blu-ray player and hooked it directly into the TV with an HDMI cable. Having read here about some of the problems of dead sets on arrival or display issues, I'd decided it was only prudent to ensure proper functioning BEFORE the installers left. There were no problems or issues in the TV itself; later I'd find some oddities with the HDMI connections which I now suspect were either cable and/or hand-shaking issues.Pros:- Beautiful, sharp, bright picture, with a high degree of customization possible for personal preference, room conditions, and even decent automatic adjustments based on what the TV thinks you're watching- 3D was even better than what I sampled in the store, although it does take a little getting used to. Very nice with video games, and good with movies. (We don't have DirecTV, so I can't comment on their 3D programming.)- Surprisingly wide viewing angles without any distortion or drop-off.- Integration with other Sony equipment is seamless, so much so that I sometimes have to check to remember whether I'm controlling the TV, or the PS3, or our older no-feature Sony blu-ray player. The TV can even turn on/off and control the volume of our home theater receiver through the HDMI line.- No problem getting the TV to connect to our home wireless-N network, and the signal is strong enough to stream Netflix without interruption or quality down-stepping. Nice feature about the NX810 is it has wireless and wired Ethernet built right in.- The provided Sony remote control is pretty nice and well laid out, but has no learning capabilities. (I suspect my spouse is getting me a new universal remote for Christmas...).Cons:- Some HDMI set-up issues for us. Our Denon receiver is supposed to be able to route full HDMI signals to the TV, and to support the latest HDMI standards (including 3D), but it doesn't -- TV says there's no signal. So I connected all our equipment directly to the TV instead, and that helped, and I can get the receiver to work, but reliably only after I added an optical cable to serve as audio return -- which isn't supposed to be necessary either. I've ordered a better/newer HDMI cable to see if this helps. Meanwhile though, the TV does manage to control volume and power on/off for the receiver through the HDMI connection. So I'm still puzzling this one out; if folks have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.- Didn't like the motion-flow default settings. As other reviewers mentioned, while it might appeal to some, it tended to make TV shows and movies look weird and soap opera-ish. No other way to describe it, just that it didn't seem natural.- As other reviewers have noted, the built-in speakers are rather weak, tinny, with little bass. You can get better sound out of even a hundred dollar 2.1 computer speaker set. Really Sony? Why not include an inexpensive passive sub-woofer with the TV, and beef-up the built-in audio power and speakers just a little? It's worth noting however that none of the thin-screen TVs I checked out had what I'd consider home-theater quality sound.- Internet video streaming does require a high-speed broadband connection.- There just aren't that many 3D movies out there yet, and a few of the high-demand ones are locked into ridiculously long exclusivity deals. (I'm looking at you Panasonic: Your reportedly year-long "Avatar" lock-in actually made me -less- likely to buy your product, not more, because I found the exclusion deal personally offensive, even though I really want to see that film in 3D again.)- The 3D glasses are somewhat on the heavy side, but this is the case with any shutter glasses. When watching 3D movies, you might want to take breaks, at least until you get used to wearing them for extended periods.Recommendations:- Do have the location ready for when the installers arrive, that way you can have them set up the TV and you can really check to make sure the TV is working right. Don't let them leave until you're certain you're satisfied with the TV. Fact is though, no matter where you buy it, there can be problems during shipping and/or delivery.- Try to buy big-ticket items like this from stores and vendors with a no-hassle returns policy. Amazon's is great, with 30 days to decide whether you like the TV or not, or to uncover product defects.- If you don't have an existing home theater audio set-up, I do recommend getting one of those powered TV speaker cabinet-stands they sell, or else a nice 2.1 Harmon-Kardin (or comparable) computer speaker set and hook those up to the TV, either through the audio out in the back or use the headphone jack.- If you have kids or rambunctious pets, absolutely do ensure the TV is either attached to the wall using a VESA-standard mount, or that the table-top mount is fastened/screwed to the supporting cabinet. It's an important safety measure.- Check your HDMI cables. Although older cables will usually work, there can be performance and feature issues with old or low speed ones. It's essential to use a high speed cable between your 3D blu-ray player and the TV. (Hint: Use the cable that comes with the 3D accessory kit for the 3D blu-ray to TV connection. It's guaranteed to work.)- Make sure to go through all the papers and fliers that come with the TV -- we discovered among them a number of unadvertised special promotion items, including several free PS3 3D games (free for download, enter a scratch-off code) and two bonus 3D blu-ray discs (Bolt (yay!) and Michael Jackson (meh)) just for registering our set online with Sony, plus subscription offers for Netflix, Hulu Plus, and more.Would we recommend this TV to a friend? Yes, definitely. On edit, August 18 2011: Well, we've had the set for eight months now, and continue to be very happy with it. Nearly all of the audio problems I reported before were apparently HDMI cable-related, but here's the thing: I was always using the correctly rated cables. It's just that some work between one device and another, but move them to a different device and they don't. Or just never properly at all. Anyway, if you get audio cut-out problems or failure for devices to be recognized, my recommendation now is always "get another HDMI cable."

4Disappointing Initial Experience
By G. de Simone
I'm writing a review for the second unit that I've received from Amazon, since the first one was damaged on arrival. Before getting into the details of the TV itself, the first nasty experience I can report is with Pilot, the company that Amazon contracted for the delivery. They seem to handle products in a rough manner, and Sony certainly didn't package the TV to handle that kind of abuse. The glass surface that covers the display is pretty but very thin, and as such it shattered easily when the box was mishandled. I would recommend against buying this set unless you can get a different shipping company to deliver it to your home.Moving on to the actual unit, here's the Pros:- Stunning design. It is easily the prettiest TV in its price range. It doesn't have ugly, useless, transparent borders or colored bezels that glow or simply waste space. It is also reasonably thin, but nowhere near the paper-thin stuff you see from Samsung.- Great menu navigation. This TV uses the standard cross-bar navigation I have first seen on the PS3, but somehow it works a lot better than on the console, perhaps because there are fewer items to scroll through, and they are easier to understand.- Great image quality (minus one nasty problem I'll discuss later). It doesn't look any better (or worse) than a comparable set by Samsung or LG, but Sony's implementation of motion-blur reduction ("motionflow") appears to be much better than what I've seen on Samsung TVs. On other sets, people normally turn this feature off, and it gained the dubious nickname of "soap-opera effect". On this TV, the feature seems to work as advertised, and it doesn't get too much in the way (and, it can always be turned off)....and here's the more disappointing aspects of this set:- When the TV is on, it shows two dark spots (more like black clouds 1 inch in diameter). The black spots show only over bright images, and you would not notice them over a dark background. This is a defect that seems to be common for this particular model. It's very disappointing because it appears to be caused by a design problem in the TV itself, and shows poor product design. There are two round "objects" inside the TV (pegs/screws/whatever) that are dangerously close to the panel. The constant vibration that happens when TV is shipped cross-country causes these objects to poke the screen from the back, damaging it. The black spots caused by them have an irregular shape, but are always at the same locations: roughly mid-left and mid-right. In my own unit, you can gently tap the TV from the back to see these two round shapes pressing against the display (no other area of the TV shows any feedback when tapped so delicately). Needless to say, Sony will have to send a repairman to fix it, but one worrisome aspect of this design flaw is that it may be a problem that can be triggered rather easily. If you end up buying this TV as I did, I would recommend to keep the original box and not to stuff it inside your average moving truck on your next move. I would also recommend *against* laying the TV down flat during transportation. Unless one knows exactly how the TV looks like on the inside (and I'm not about to break mine just to find out) it would be hard to guess how easily those two round pegs can shake up and down and damage your display.- There is practically no bass coming out of its speakers. If you're listening to speech, the quality is great but you'll miss out on movie soundtracks, explosions, etc. Given that the TV is not as thin as many comparable sets by Samsung and LG, I was really hoping Sony was using the extra space to cram a bit more power in the built-in speakers. If you plan to hang your TV on the wall (after all, it looks stunning) you will probably be disappointed unless you hook it up to more powerful speakers, and none of those look quite as good as the TV itself.[UPDATE BELOW]I'm finally able to update my review, since the repair guy working on behalf of Sony finally fixed the TV. In the process, I got a chance to look at innards of the TV in great detail, which had some surprises. Here's some useful information:- The speakers included with the TV are indeed extremely small, but I was told by the repairman that they are fairly standard for a TV this size. The obvious design tradeoff of making TVs thinner is that there just isn't any room left for audio components.- The built-in WiFi connectivity is given by a tiny device that looks very similar to those installed in desktop PCs. The antennas are placed at the bottom of the bezel, one in the middle of the TV and one towards the bottom-right edge.- In what seems like a very silly move, the replacement panel sent by Sony is really not just the panel itself. It is 90% of the TV. The replacement includes the whole front glass (which is not detachable from the panel itself) as well as a logic board. The "repair" involves ripping out components from your old TV and the plastic cover in the back, and slapping them onto the new panel.- The repair was "interesting" because the new panel came with its own T-Con board, but this board refused to communicate with the logic boards ripped out of my first set. The repair guy had to swap these T-Con boards too, and I'm not sure if there is a quality difference in the output of the TV using one board design with a display that is different than the one originally installed at the factory.- The replacement panel was manufactured by the same company, but it did not have the same product code. No big-name brand was recognizable on the back, but this discrepancy might explain why the included "T-Con" board wasn't happy and required swapping.- It seems pretty silly that Sony chooses to incur labor and bureaucracy costs rather than simply replacing the TV. Keep in mind that the repairmen aren't Sony employees: they come from a local company that fulfills these support requests on behalf of Sony. The company that was sent to me was called Stereo Component Services (from Boston) and did an excellent job.- Finally, the image generated by the replacement panel looks comparable to the first one, sans the nasty black spots. If you end up buying this set I sincerely hope yours will just come in perfect working condition. My TV, after all the work performed on it, is really not the same on the inside as one that is factory assembled, and who's to say after that "T-Con" board swap that things are working exactly as they should.Having played with the TV in working condition for the first time, I have now upgraded my rating from 3 to 4 stars. The reason is that with a display quality comparable to other brands (LGs and Samsung, specifically), the Sony menu system in my opinion beats them hands down. I compared it closely with a new set from LG (which is a great set by all other means) and I came away appreciating the less-cluttered, down-to-the-point approach of the Sony. The LG had giant tacky icons and a slower input selection method, and it was organized in a less logical manner.

4excellent buy
By Bradley J Anderson
The quallity seemed excellent and being new to longboard was an excellent deal no instructions came with the product though so, but other then that it appears to be just as advertised. My Son, keep adjusting the tightness of the nuts for the bearings and when he was coming down a hill the bearings came apart. I believe that the fault in this case was user error...These trucks and wheels look great and perform great on the custom longboard I made for my son.It was hickory/plywood combination.

4It's a nice TV but 3D is not worth the premium you pay
By R. Schueler
I have had my Sony KDL46NX810 for about a month. I have the 3D accessories, a Sony PlayStation 3 and a computer hooked to the TV. Most of the content I watch is on the internet over the computer, streaming Netflix, and Amazon Video on Demand. The 3D effect is a novelty. Once the new wears off I will put the 3D glasses in a draw and forget about them. I wish I purchased a less expensive TV that does not have 3D. Other than my disappointment with 3D, I am quite happy with the TV.CONNECTIONS: My computer and PlayStation are both connected to the TV with 12' long inexpensive HDMI cables purchased from Harbor Freight (seller of cheap tools). The 3D starter pack I purchased came with a "High-speed HDMI cable..... (for the) transfer of both 3D video and audio signals". So far the inexpensive HDMI cable seems to work fine even with 3D content. The TV is also connected to the internet with a cat 5 cable. It has WiFi but I didn't need it (or try it). I have high speed internet access through the local cable provider. I have experienced no trouble streaming content.ANTENNA: I get the same number of channels over the air as I did when I had a 7 year old generic HD TV. There is an onscreen program guide. During setup the TV asked if I wanted the programming guide from the internet or from over-the-air. I chose the internet option. On the TV guide channel I can see what will be on hours from now.LOOK: The TV looks great. The Sony emblem lights up when you turn on the TV. You can turn that feature off if you want. I have the TV mounted on the wall. The monolithic design was great. I say was because the IR emitter that is required for 3D makes the TV not so monolithic any more. The emitter is the bunny-ears of the 3D television age. It should have been built in to the TV. It's not that bad but it does not add to the look and Sony is selling the "Monolithic Design".ACCESSORIES : The remote control seems rather long and has many buttons. When I first got the TV I tried to learn the remote and how to get from thing to thing. After a day or two I navigated the options of the TV through the Home Menu. The Home Menu is easy to navigate and is very similar to the PS3 menu organization. Everything is easy to find and the TV is easy to navigate. The stations that I get over the aerial all have their own icon in the menu. There is also a description of what is on now. Everything the TV can do is available through the graphical menu. The remote control also will navigate the PS3 menus and control video play back on the PS3. Play, Stop, Fast Forward, and Next all work as expected from the TV remote controlling the PS3. The cross button in the center of the remote is the same as the x button on the PS3 controller. The back button will move you back towards the main menu. I am very happy with the way the TV remote controls the PS3. I tried to use the TV remote as a controller for a game but there is no Start button so I could not start the game. There would be no advantage to the remote as a controller for PS3 games but I thought I would try anyway. I can't turn the PS3 on with the TV remote. I have the impression that the TV remote can turn on the PS3 but I have not figured that out yet.DIGITAL VIDEO CONTENT: To make many of these features work it is helpful to have both a separate computer and the TV connected to the internet. When I first tried to register the TV, I was using the TV as the monitor to the computer. I could not register the computer until I was using a computer that did not need the TV as a monitor. Other then needing both the TV and the computer at the same time, the registering process was easy. There were a lot of steps. You register the TV with Sony then Netflix then Amazon Video on Demand, then what ever else.Accessible through the TV are Qriocity video on demand, Amazon, Hulu +, Netfix, YouTube, Crackle, an RSS feed (Not a fully functional RSS feed) and a bunch of other stuff. Let's start with the bunch of other stuff. It is mostly internet shorts. I have a friend with a Roku and it is similar to the things that he watches on his Roku. Roku has much more content of the internet short variety. Someone will like some of these channels, I don't bother with them. There is a RSS feed but you can't add anything to it or delete anything from it. It's an RSS feed that you don't have any control over. That said, it has episodes of Meet The Press an, the Nightly News and other things. I have not used it but on occasion I do like to watch Meet The Press. It's nice to know it's there.Crackle is full of things that Sony owns. That you can watch at any time. There are 4 episodes of each of the following TV shows on Crackle ; Barney miller, Dilbert News radio, I dream of Jeannie, 10 items or less, the Jackie Chan Adventures, Vip and Bewitched in their TV episodes folder. There are also 8 movies. I have not watched any of this content. I don't know if this content changes over time. The list of shows available was from November 2010.YouTube is surprisingly easy to use on the TV. If you want to search for anything you have to use an onscreen keyboard. That's laborious so I never do it. It does connect to my YouTube account. I can bring up my favorites or subscriptions very easily. I don't use this much because I have a computer connected to the TV but it's easy to use.You need a Netflix account to use Netflix. I have not had any problems with streaming content through Netflix. I use this feature often. At the moment, you can only watch the content that is in your instant cue. Netflix on the PS3 has a much better interface. I imagine that there will be a software update that allows you to do more than just watch what is in your cue. That said it's easy enough to put things in your Netflix cue if you have a computer nearby.I don't use Hulu+ because I have a computer connected to the TV. Regular Hulu through the computer and displayed on the TV works fine.I have been very happy with Amazon Video on Demand. You can rent or purchases new and old movies and TV shows through this service and stream them to the TV. You can typically choose between HD and standard definition. I have used this service for years. I don't use cable so if there is a show I want to see that is not available on the internet I have to wait for it to come out on Netflix or purchase it episode by episode on Amazon.I don't use Qriocity but it seems like a competitor to Amazon Video on demand. I haven't used this service. I looked at their pricing and it was the same as Amazon for everything I looked at.DIGITAL AUDIO CONTENT: The TV has Slacker, Pandora, Berliner Philharmoniker, and NPR. The menu also has a Lollapalooza station but it is just a standard Slacker radio station. Slacker and Pandora are services that stream music. They have many built in stations. One can make a customized station simply by typing a name of a band or song and the service will build a radio station around that song or band. Slacker works well on the TV. You can turn the screen off while Slacker is playing or display album art. I have used Slacker for years. I was very pleased that it was on the TV at first but I don't use it because I have other speakers when I play it on my computer that are much better. I don't use Pandora but I imagine it works in roughly the same way on the TV.The only thing I know about Berliner Philharmoniker is that you have to pay for the service. I don't even know exactly what the service is even though I tried to figure it out by registering on their website. Slacker has classical music and so does Pandora.NPR on the TV was a big letdown. You have access to podcasts and program s on NPR through the TV. The interface was much easier to navigate and find things then the NPR website. I like to listen to the Planet Money Podcast and they have it. The disappointment came when I realized that all the content that I looked at was a couple months old. Perhaps at some point it will be updated regularly but as of Nov 2010 it is not.AUDIO: The TV doses not sound great. My understanding is that there is not enough room for base speakers in flat screen TVs. The computer sounds particularly bad when played through the TV. The computer sounds fine with different speakers. I think there might be some equalizer settings that could make the computer sound better. The TV needs a base speaker. Sony does not sell a separate base speaker for this TV. It doses sell a stand with built in speakers and a couple of sound bars with sub-woofers. It needs something.3D: You must buy a 3D sink transmitter and 3D glasses to make this TV into a 3D TV. There is no good place to put the 3D sink transmitter. It is the bunny-ears of 3D televisions. I purchased the Alice in Wonderland 3D starter kit. The sink transmitter has a cord that is a meter long or more and plugs into the back of the TV. I have never seen the kind of connector that is used for the sink transmitter any were else. If you wanted an extension for the 3D transmitter I suspect you would have a hard time finding one. That said it must be located near the TV. The instructions say either at the top or bottom of the TV.My TV came with a "gift" for registering. This is separate from the registering the TV so it would function with the digital content. For filling out a second product registry form on the internet they are sending me through the mail the "Bolt" in 3D and "This is it" with 10 minutes of 3D content. I have not received these movies yet.It also comes with a voucher code for four 3D PS3 games including Motor Storm (demo), Pain with 3D pack (Portion of the game), Super Stardust HD in 3D (full game) and Wipeout HD in 3d (full game).I purchased the TV because the idea of 3D games was very appealing to me. I thought that if you had a plantation move controller and a 3D TV you would interact with the 3D image. It never occurred to me that a 3D image would only be another way to display the 2D image that is already there. My expectations were too high thus I was disappointed. To be fair I have not yet played all the games available in 3D.3D looks fine. Super Stardust HD in 3D is pretty cool. The game is 3D inside the TV but when you are killed your ship explodes out of the TV. It's a nice effect. Motor Storm and Grand Turismo 5 display in 3D but I experience no added benefit to displaying the games in 3D.I can't play video games for long periods of time because of eye strain. My eyes start hurting two or three times as fast when playing games in 3D. Watching 3D movies does not seem to cause as much eye strain (at least for me).Because there is no interaction with the 3D image and there is only marginal benefit (if any) to displaying a game in 3D, the 3D effect is only a novelty. Once the new wears off, I will put away the 3D glasses, hide the 3D sink behind the TV and only bring it out on occasion if someone wants to see it.****I wish I purchased a less expensive TV with the same features less the 3D.****AS A COMPUTER MONITOR: I use the TV as a computer monitor. My understanding is that plasma TV's can have image burn in so if you're going to use the TV as a monitor you are better off getting an LCD. It is connected to my computer through a HDMI cable but there is a place for a standard monitor cable to connect. The HDMI is nice because it has both sound and video. The specs for the TV said that the HDMI was computer compatible. A computer with an HDMI out will display on any TV with an HDMI in. This TV communicated with my computer and told the computer what the optimal settings are for the TV. At least that is my understanding of what it did. The computer knows the model number of the TV and has some settings marked as optimal. If you sit too close to the TV you will noticed that there is an array of tiny black marks. Those black marks are similar to what one would find on an old high end projector screen. Old projector screens have the black marks to enhance contrast. You would never notice them if you were sitting on the couch or watching a TV. It's not a problem but it's noticeable if I am sitting too close to the TV. If I look closely at my computer monitor at work, I see a grid of black lines instead of an array of black marks. You will never notice them unless you look for them.TV WIDGETS: This feature has great potential but as it currently exists, it's nearly useless. TV widgets are very similar to desktop widgets that became available with windows vista. They will display the weather, stock quotes or other simple information. They are nearly useless because they are too slow. Setting up the weather takes forever because the setup is just as slow. Once you have the weather widget setup and you want to see what the weather is, you can hit the widget button on the wait 30 seconds, and then select the weather widget. Once the weather widget is selected you must wait another 30 seconds and the most basic information about the current weather will be displayed. It is just too slow for the content that is provided. It would seem more appropriate if it displayed at least a radar map after waiting 60 seconds. Perhaps I need to look up "Everything is amazing and no one is happy" on YouTube again.BOTTOM LINE: It's a very nice TV. The sound quality is not so great but probably competitive with other thin screen TVs. I wish I purchased a less expensive TV without 3D.

5Almost perfect (edited review)
By J. Walker
I have owned this tv for only about 1 week, but here are my early impressions:I tried two different HDTVs before purchasing this one. Both were edge-lit LED and both exhibited some clouding and flashlighting (very bright screen in the corners). I took a chance on this Sony based on the quality of my past Sony products and comments/reviews from others. I have not been disappointed.First off, I would like to praise Amazon for getting this TV to me quickly and in one piece. From the time I ordered it to plugging it in was less than 6 days! Pilot was the delivery company and I have nothing but nice things to say about them. From the moment you take it out of the box you have to like the look of this tv. The front panel is all glass--no plastic bezel around the outside. It is a handsome tv. It is also quite heavy.I installed it on the included base and it sits on a low bookcase. It does swivel and the base install instructions give some cryptic indication that it tilts 6 degrees. Not sure about that one and I didn't try to force it. Right out of the box the picture is very good. Setup is easy and with some very simple picture adjustments you will be enjoying your tv.I have windows that are directly behind me as I view the tv, but I was amazed that the glare is not overly-distracting. Yes, there is glare, but it does not diminish the view or picture quality. Your tolerance for such things may vary. I have blinds and a curtain I can draw for daytime viewing, and there is no problem at all there. As a 3D tv, the verdict is still out. The Alice in Wonderland movie I received in the bundle with the tv does not play in my PS3, so I cannot make an evaluation of 3D movies. A couple of 3D games are available for the Playstation, and they look pretty good, particularly Wipeout HD. A very good 3D experience. I don't know much about 3D picture quality (cross-talk, ghosting, etc.), but it looks pretty cool to me.You can simulate 3D, but it really is a poor substitute and doesn't enhance the viewing much. This is the part of 3D that is pure novelty.I honestly don't care much about the 3D aspect, as this will take some time to develop. There is so little 3D content out there, it is not worth upgrading to 3D if you are happy with your current TV. I purchased this tv because it is probably the best 2D set at this price range. The problem I had with other LEDs was the edge-lit technology. The brightness was inconsistent. This Sony uses a "Dynamic" edge LED backlight. This is Sony-speak indicating that it provides more precise control of the LED. There is no clouding or flashlighting or other inconsistent bright spots in the picture. The blacks are very dark and the bright scenes are vivid, but not overly bright or saturated in color. The Motionflow 240Hz technology refers to the refresh rate of the screen. It is an improvement over 60Hz found on earlier LCDs, but most people probably could not tell the difference between 240Hz and 120Hz (found on most newer LED/LCD). I wouldn't buy this tv just because of 240Hz, but it certainly enhances the total viewing experience. Once you activate the tv via Sony, you can use the Internet video and audio functions. There are dozens of video applications from Netflix, YouTube, Amazon on Demand, and Hulu+, to epicurious.com, crackle.com, and other similarly obscure video sites. They are good time wasters and work very well. I stream Netflix and Pandora and have had no troubles at all. I have it hard-wired for internet (I have an unreliable router), but I tested the built-in wireless-N wifi, and there were no problems. Additionally there are plenty of energy-saving features included (LED tvs are more energy-efficient anyway). Of course, the most energy-saving thing you can do is to unplug it and read a book. The Bravia snyc is great. I have a Sony AV and one remote will operate them both. You can run all your peripherals to the Amp and need just one HDMI to the TV. Of course, your setup will be different. I have an older PS3 that the remote will not operate, but I have heard that the new PS3 slims can take advantage of the Bravia sync (as well as bluray, cd, etc.)**EDIT** the new "slim" PS3 does use Bravia snyc, and you can use the TV remote to operate the bluray!**Negatives:The Internet widgets (not to be confused with the apps) are slow and pointless. Maybe the will improve on that in the future. You have to buy the 3D transmitter separately. I don't know why they couldn't build it into the tv. Yes, the glasses are expensive, but to have to buy the transmitter too, is an insult. Just make sure you get a bundle deal to save some $$.The only other negative--and what keeps this tv from getting a perfect 5 stars--is the horrible speakers. I have heard better sounding transistor radios. I have fiddled with the settings over and over, and I still cannot get a decent sound out of this tv. I have it connected to a Sony home theatre, but don't like power it on just for tv (kind of an energy waste, I think), but sometimes it's necessary.A very long review, but to sum up:Excellent (2D) picture, convenient Internet apps, included wireless-N wifi, and eye-catching styling. No early warning flags regarding 3D picture quality. Horrible audio. Overall I give it 9 out of 10.**UPDATE** I got the Alice movie to work in my PS3, so I had the opportunity to watch in 3D. The effect is very nice. With this particular movie 3D made it better. Any movie that uses a lot of CGI will benefit from 3D. When watching 3D, the screen gets a little darker, so you may have to adjust your picture options to compensate. I did not find it to be a problem as we watched in a dark room. The glasses are a little heavy and became a bit painful on my nose after about an hour. A small piece of foam (like a thick moleskin type product) on the nosepads will reduce the pain. Also, you cannot lie down or even lean slightly askew while watching, as this will negate most, if not all, of the 3D effect. Sit up straight young man! No slouching! Make no mistake, the 3D is still a novelty at this stage, but having a quality 3D feature on one of the best-looking 2D tvs I have seen is an added bonus. I highly recommend this TV. I have bumped the star rating to 5 out of 5 (from 4/5) because the 3D element makes up for the poor sound.9.5 out of 10!

5Astonishing picture
By Richard S. Lee
I got this along with a Sony Blu-ray player with 5.1 sound system. The built-in sound system is not very good but with the add-on sound it's fabulous. Blu-ray HD and HD from the cable are so amazingly good on this tv it's unbelievable. Seriously, it's the best looking tv I think I've ever seen. I didn't get the 3D add-on system because I'm just not at all interested in that.I was watching E.T. on cable in 1080i HD last night and it was like watching a completely new movie. The picture was so lifelike I felt like I was right there. Newly produced TV shows in HD are freakishly real-looking. It's almost unnerving. I'm a professional photographer so I did a little bit of custom setup on the video to get it just right, but it was good right out of the box.Great TV... don't bother with 3D (in my opinion), get a good add-on sound system.

This item went very very well in my kitchen and its easy to assemble. While unpacking I notice a chip on the corner part of the table, however for the price the set its still a nice set for my kitchen.

5Table review - Awesome
By George Barquin
What a great value for this table. It looks amazing. It has to be put together, and all in all it took about an hour. Almost half that time just unpacking it. Instructions are super easy. The table is very sturdy, and the countertop looks very high class. Chairs are beautiful, not sure sice they are all wood if they will hold up for a long time, but they look stunning. Highly recommended.

4Great buy for the money
By monoblocks
An Office Depot special...with a price at a penny less than four Benjamins this Toshiba represented a nice offer that I couldn't pass up. No, its operational speed isn't as snappy as my i7 desktop or the MSI i5 laptop I looked at just a few spots down from the demo of the C655D at the store, but it certainly smokes the Aspire One netbook I had been relegated to using full time as a portable computer when my old 15.4" Dell notebook finally called it a life. And only $50 more than what I spent on said netbook 2 1/2 years earlier. So far I've found that the Toshiba's performance speed is more than decent for most business apps and certainly is a fair bit better than the old Dell that I became so used to. Preloaded with Microsoft Works, the Word 9 (otherwise known as 2007) component loads quickly and operates smoothly even if it's a bit dumbed down from the full version. Other programs I've installed so far seem to be swift and lag-free, with only Photoshop showing a bit more hesitancy than what I'm normally used to seeing. As for the internet, Firefox and IE8 seem to run as smoothly and quickly as they do on our other computers and Google Chrome is as blindingly fast (relatively speaking) as always.Downsides (so far) are few: one wouldn't think that 0.2" would seem so much more massive, but this 15.6" seem so HUGE next to the Dell. The widescreen aspect of the C655D is the likely culprit, giving the Toshiba the heft and feel seem closer to that of a 17" laptop than a 15" one. Battery charge life is anemic relatively speaking; the best charge length experienced so far is a bit over 3 hours, but several sessions have not hit the 3 hour mark before reaching critical power reserve levels. This is not wholly unexpected considering its price class, but still disappointing nonetheless. There's no built-in camera, which again is something that's usually the case at this end of the laptop market. Sound quality through the built-in speakers is atrocious, and frankly isn't even all that great through the headphone jack. The screen display is decent enough; on AC power images look good and appropriate for this computer's price point, and the ATI display chipset seems to handle video content with competence even if it's not all that spectacular. Like most machines these days, the C655D comes with the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium. Build quality is decent for the money, but most of the plastics used definitely lean towards the bargain basement side. Heat buildup seems manageable; the left side of the computer where I believe the hard drive is located does get warm but it's not uncomfortably so. Even my netbook becomes more heated than this Toshiba. There's some crapware loaded on the computer, but I've seen far worse in the past on other new machines. All uninstalled quickly. Norton is the preloaded security suite, a package that for me disappeared on the first day. To Norton's credit, it uninstalled cleanly and fairly painlessly and made the subsequent installation of Comodo--my security package of choice--quite easy.It was probably too much to ask but only two USB 2.0 ports reside on this notebook, down from the four I was used to with the Dell. But at least there's a somewhat useful media card reader...even if it can't handle older CompactFlash II cards that I use with my Nikon D300. The DVD drive/burner seems to work well, although I've yet to really push its skill set. The keyboard design is passable as far as laptops go, feeling workable but personally for me it's not particularly comfortable. Perhaps it's the price one pays for going low-ball--having to put up with HUGE 'Toshiba' pronouncement on the cover--but the obnoxiously-sized logo on the back side of the LED display panel is more than a little off-putting. A date with a airbrush wand or a band-aid decal (Goodyear? Kawasaki? Budweiser? Sig Sauer? Hello Kitty?) seems like a much more preferable option. In all I'm not doubting that this AMD-based laptop will do the job I will ask of it. It seems to pack a lot of performance for the discount price paid. For the money it's been a good, smart buy.

4Safe bet for anything less than $400
By M. Shariff
I paid $350 for this laptop. Whatever you do not pay more than $400.While this laptop is nothing compared to a sony vaio or a Macintosh... for a budget laptop the performace of this laptop supercedes numerous other machines.3gigs of ram. and 2 core processor is what you MUST have nowadaysits not that heavy, however the battery has rougly 2.5 hours of time (with normal brightness and internet use)what i do not like about this laptopNO WEBCAM!!! i mean it is a budget laptop, but come on webcam parts are soo cheap!!! i would have paid $10 extra for a webcamit is pretty wide however that helps with the size and clarity of the screen.the cd drive is pretty bad quality, sometimes if you play a cd the cd drive motor gets really loud!other than that this laptop is great and gets the job done.THANK YOU OFFICE DEPOT!!!

4Parents are very happy
By Lan
This was a present for my parents. they really love it. the specs on it were good on my end, and definitely support everything my parents need it for and more. all in all, a very happy purchase. it did come refurbished so box packaging wasn't that great, my parents were worried it would be all banged up, but once they opened it and starting using it, there has been nothing but praises and no complaints.
