Excellent product

I love my AMP Research PowerSteps. My installation was on a 2012 F150 Supercrew FX4. It took me about 3 hours to complete the installation with no assistance. The instruction booklet is very good with clear pictures and good written instructions. If you are mechanically inclined at all, it is no problem. The hardest part is tapping into the factory wire harness for the door switches as the area is tight and there isn't a lot of slack on the factory wires. The wire harness supplied by AMP is just the right length. The physical installation of the steps is easy, I did not need to grind or cut anything though I have heard others have had to do minor work to get the brackets to fit. The lighting kit is nice and lights up the step well. The steps feel very sturdy and makes entry into and exit from the truck significantly easier. The motors are quiet and fast, and before you can put your foot down they are completely deployed and ready to be stepped on. It is not clear in the marketing materials but the steps will open only on the side that the door is opened on. This is a good-quality, American-made product with an excellent warranty. So far, I am very pleased.

Got these to replace the heavy steal running boards on my 2011 Raptor. These are much lighter and improve the clearance on the bottom of the truck. One note, the instructions show a bracket to move the brake. This is not included in the kit as it is not needed. Had to call customer service to find that out after tearing out my hair trying to find it in the collection of boxes that show up. Overall install by myself took the estimated 3 hours. As the other review noted the wiring in the footwell is tough as the space is small and awkward. The other tip I can offer is use a wire snake to feed the driver side harness lead through the plastic, it makes that job far easier.

Great steps and easy install. The wiring diagram was not great but I called them during business hours and they got me fixed right up. After back surgery I could not get in and out of a truck but with these steps I can again.
