Let me break down my review as follows:Assembly:Assembly is mostly straightforward - though when looking at the instructions (which are incidentally apart of the Owner's Manual) you have to rely heavily on black and white pictures which are mostly dark and can be difficult to see if you have poor vision. They also list two methods of assembly based upon model-type. I happened to have had the 2nd type of model (latches used to anchor walls together are different). This definitely requires two people to assemble,and you'll need the following tools: 1 flat head and 1 Phillips screw driver, 2 small 3-step stools or ladders (this will be when placing the ceiling portion on top of the walls). The one part that was somewhat challenging was to get the male to female latches to slide into one another. There are 3 of these on both the left and right walls and are needed to connect them to the back wall. Two people for sure and some patience will be needed because you wont get it the first time around. Otherwise, assembly is straightforward for the sauna construction. Missing in the instructions is how/where to place the cup holders, magazine rack and towel rack. Choose according to your own tastes where you want to mount these on the inside.Fit/Finish:Overall from outward appearances, it does look very attractive. Fit between wood slots and panels fit nicely and look clean. The framing around all corners as well as both the side windows (which are incidentally smoked glass - looks great!)are all square and clean. You will notice from the inside when sitting down that where the walls join up - you'll see some uneven alignment in boards and grooves but this is to be expected as you're the one putting everything together and not built at the factory. Some of the mounting hinges (for the stereo)are somewhat flimsy so care should be taken when mounting the stereo box. The mounting frame around the interior light disc is a bit flimsy looking and rough around the edges - but it does protect the LED lights adequately. On top of the ceiling you'll see a handful of access ports - all have 1 screw which you'll need to unscrew to gain access to the power connections (there are 3 to be made). Some of the screws on the top portion of the ceiling appear to have been screwed in haphazardly, but do the job. Finish of seating area and back rests are excellent and look great. The walls settle nicely in the provided grooves in the base of the sauna and fit snugly once all together. The mounting frame for the internal control panel was slightly off but twisting the control panel so that it aligned (visually) within the frame was a piece of cake.Comfort/Convenience:Here is where this sauna shines. Comfort is excellent - it does what its supposed to - heats up quickly. The seating area is at the right height (im on the smaller side 5'8" and my wife is 5'5") so our feet can be placed comfortably on the floor without feeling like the seat area is digging into the back of our knees. Having the convenience of an outside AND inside control panel to adjust TIME, TEMPERATURE, INSIDE/OUTSIDE lighting was a great idea so you don't have to get out of the sauna to make any adjustments. The stereo is nothing spectacular but it is digital and does work. I wish it would had the ability to store favorite stations and the tuning is performed by turning the tuning knob left or right - it behaves more like an older analog tuning knob. I did notice a distinct high pitched whine when listening to any station on the FM band. To correct this, I had to take out a couple of the screws on the top of the ceiling's panel to access the radio's antenna and re-routed it outside the sauna and fixed it to the ceiling in our room with an extra screw. The radio does have AM/FM, MP3 player auxiliary input jack and CD player. Once you fine-tune the reception, it sounds great and does have an equalizer and preset sounds, ROCK, POP, etc.. If you wish to use the auxiliary input for your iPod etc, you'll need a 3.5mm Male-to-Male Stereo Cable which you can pick up just about anywhere nowadays. The included magazine rack, towel rack, cup holders (2), back rests (2) and Ionizer/Ozone Generator are excellent add-ons and very useful for overall comfort and sauna experience. The Ionizer/Ozone Generator has a twist-style door on the back of it where you can insert a pre-scented disc. The interior lights are swivel-mounted so you can actually aim the lights to point in different directions - a nice feature if you don't want a light directly on you. The LED therapy lights also has its own control panel which allows you to select duration and color/blink pattern of lights - nice. You do have the option of having both interior as well as therapy LED lights on at the same time or forgo one for the other. The six carbon heater elements are OUTSTANDING and emit a very comfortable, warm soft-like heat which is distributed very evenly throughout the interior of the sauna. Heat-up and cool-downs are quick and getting in and out of the sauna is very easy and shouldn't be an issue for anyone. The base of the sauna has 6 feet and two support columns that touch the floor. All have plastic discs affixed to them so it wont scratch your hardwood floors when moving around. Re-positioning the sauna isn't all that difficult at all and is deceptively light (its 300+ pounds but you wouldn't know it).Overall Experience:Having had this sauna for one week now I can say its been money well spent. My wife loves it as well as our son. Its also a great way to warm up for a bit quickly if you live in colder climates or its winter-time.. just dial in the temperature to 75-90 degrees and its a great way to warm up. The ease of use, comfort, add-on amenities and even the scent of the wood make this sauna a great investment in your comfort and health. Its a very enjoyable and relaxing experience and I highly recommend anyone to purchase a sauna if its within your budget - get it!

Great DIY kit, poor instruction manual

This 2 person Heat Wave Hemlock sauna kit really needs a upgrade in the instruction manual. I had a licensed carpenter put together the kit and he had a hard time understanding the directions and ended up just having to think things through to finish assembling the kit. Fortunately the finished product was satisfying and all the features worked just fine. There were a few minor modifications needed on the assembly, but no real complaints about the quality.You should note that this kit comes in two very heavy boxes and very large boxes. The assembly took about 3 hours but part of that time was moving the many pieces from the garage to inside my house. There is a strong wood smell that takes a few days to air out but that is expected. Overall, a good value for the money and if they redid the instruction manual, it would be worth five stars.

Very good, but damaged during shipping

Only part that was damaged was the top where it curves a little, we had to nail it back into place, looks bad but it held into place. Over all the sauna is great, spakers was booming, considering I have bose in my car, so sound quality from it was way better than I expected. Assembly was a bit confusing, but just a little common sense will get you though the installation part. Everything just really snapped into place. You do need screws to install the cup holder and the racks inside the sauna.This heats up very fast, up to 135 we got it up to there before. Everything is lovely inside, the lights inside are LEDs and there is a mood light that flashes green, blue, and purple. There are controls inside and out side the sauna. There is a lot of sound leakage when playing the radio inside. so have it set up in a place where sound wont be such an issue. This unit is VERY heavy. Make sure you got some one to help you move everything around. It comes in 3 large boxes. Shipped via fright, I didn't know you needed to schedule an appointment to get it delivered, but the seller was very helpful and responsive.If your looking for a great sauna, this one is very good. I would recommend it to anyone.
