The Marcy MD867 mid-size weight bench from Impex Fitness allows you to exercise your chest, shoulders, biceps, legs, and more without having to leave your home. The 14 gauge, durable powder coated steel frame, will hold up for years of weightlifting. The features on the MD867 allow you to target upper and lower body muscle groups, tone and define muscles, increase strength and stamina and help to lose weight and burn calories. The multi-position back pad adjusts for incline, decline and flat chest press exercises. A sliding seat track adjusts and securely locks into position, properly placing you in the correct seating posture for bicep preacher curls and military shoulder press exercises. Large diameter Akimbo (angled) style crutches with four press positions and two squat positions accepts both mid size (6') and Olympic size (7') barbells. Concentrate on bicep curl exercises with the included adjustable preacher curl pad and bicep bar. A total leg developer targets quadriceps, hamstrings and glute muscles. Reverse bar catches on the backside of the uprights allow for squat exercises. Olympic weight plate storage posts and spring retaining weight plate clips are included. Oversized safety bar catches allow you to push for maximum effort when working out alone. Marcy Mid Bench

After reading other owners reviews, I was a bit concerned about purchasing this bench, but it is everything I hoped for, with none of the concerns that the other owners conveyed. It is sturdy, the preacher bench is stable with very little motion, the leg station is plenty high off the ground so my feet don't touch. (I'm 6ft tall) The fact that the bench and the rack are separate, makes this bench better than any of the others I checked on. The price was 80 dollars less than a local retailer. So it was a great buy all the way!!!

Exactly What I Wanted

The bench is stable and is exactly what I anticipated. I had Marcy standard bench with butterfly and preacher curls, but it was not tall enough. This bench is tall enough and is comfortable (a relative term for a weight bench). I'm 6'1" and lay back without hitting my head on the press bar (which occurred on the old bench). Including getting my tools ready and putting them back in place, assembly took me 1 hour and 20 minutes. Everything fit in place as intended. I formally had to store additions weight plates on the floor. This bench has two storage bars, one on each side. This bench requires either a 6' or 7' bar; a 5' bar will not work. The mounting / holding "pins" for the preachers curl and seat are spring loaded so the adjustment of the seat and the removal / replacement of the preachers curl bench is very easy to accomplish.

I'll start with why I think the bench is worth 4 stars. It's actually pretty well made, once the parts are put together, which takes about 2 hours, it looks and feels pretty sturdy and can definitely hold the weight and then some of what it's rated for. This version of the Marcy Bench is NOT separate. The bench is attached to the rack, but there are holds on the back of the rack to step behind it and do Squats and other stuff. Here's a pro / con layoutPros------Nice colors, sturdy powder-coat designIncline, Decline, Flat ChoicesPreacher curl is pretty decent with adjustable arm restLeg extension is a nice add onRack is tall enough for most people with adjustable safety stops for different heightRated up to 600 pounds, weights and personCons-------Bench is not separateThe rack will get in the way if trying to pull overs, french press, etc...NOW, the reason why this particular order page has gotten 2 stars was because the hassle I had to go through to get this darn bench built! I'll start in order from purchase to figuring it all out1) Bench comes in a torn box, practically open, do not know how the UPS guy got it to my front door without it fall apart2) There are markings on the bench, like maybe a kid had drawn on it3) When opened, there was parts everywhere, not in the plastic bags that are supposed to protect it, those were bunched up to the side4) there were dents on 3 pieces and the bench pad itself had foam coming out of the side5) I was willing to over look some flaws, maybe stable the bench pad again myself but then I couldn't even because an entire nut and bolt pack was missing!6) and not like, oh just a few I'll go to Home Depot.. missing, no literally exclusive to this bench type parts, missing7) The company that sold this and shipped it does not have a phone number to contact, nor does the email work8) After finally bullying Amazon, which by the way usually are pretty awesome, they finally agreed to send a UPS pick up, free of charge from me, to come to my house to pick up the package9) had to box the entire thing back up, bring it downstairs10) after pick up, I lucked out and find the same exact bench and price at a local Academy Sports store, box looked brand new, not used, all parts there, crisis some what avertedWill not buy from this seller again or brand probably, be cautious when ordering online with this particular brand and shipper
