For the price, a very nice desk but some hint to help put it together

First, understand that you are buying a vinyl over press board desk, not a fine piece of furniture. It's heavy and will need to be assembled at it's final resting place. But when it's done, it looks very, very nice and many people think it's real wood until you tell them otherwise. Lots of drawer space (3 file drawers, 2 shallow ones and the center keyboard drawer).Hint number one: Take the time to put your hardware into various piles by size. I used a piece of the shipping carton and wrote down what each piece was - color and length. Sure, takes maybe fifteen minutes to do this but it will save you time and mistakes during assembly. It's easy to pick up the wrong screws to assemble certain areas and then find out later you have to remove them and replace them with the right ones.Number two: I always use some Elmers carpenter glue in addition to the standard fasteners, ESPECIALLY on the drawer bottom. The drawer bottoms are flimsy and will start to sag out of the grooves over time without the glue. I glue where every piece is going to come together with the little cam lock fasteners - use the glue sparingly so it doesn't run but it will make for a much more solid finished piece.Three: Drawer handles - they do have a front and back and putting them on properly not only looks correct, it hold the handle off from the laminate so it doesn't create scratches over time. Very easy to install backwards to you need to just pay attention.Four: Cordless screwdriver WITH adjustable torque. There are a LOT of screws and installing them by hand takes a lot of time and is often painful. However, if you attack them with your cordless drill with a bit in it you'll end up striping most of the holes out because press board is really bad. I used my little 7.2V Skil cordless set to the lowest torque, ran the screws all the way in and then hand tightened the last 1/2 turn or so.Finally, not so much a hint as a preference: The keyboard drawer is absolutely worthless as a keyboard drawer IMHO. So, I turned it into a regular center drawer for pens and odds and ends. All you need to do is to go buy some small L brackets at the hardware store and attached the drawer front with these and the aforementioned carpenters glue. I actually installed it with the hinges for alignment purposes, attached the L brackets to the inside of the drawer first and then mark your drawer front for alignment. You'll need to move the L bracket in a little bit on the front because the hinge holds them off the drawer a little bit. Then go down to your favorite office supply store and buy an organizer - Office Depot happens to sell one that fits that drawer perfectly. Now it's actually functional.I got this desk at one of the office supply stores (already mentioned earlier, hint, hint) for less than $225 delivered when it was on sale and using a $30 off coupon from online. Shipping here is so high because the desk weighs a TON and the office supply store will deliver it to the room where that it is going to call home - delivery from the seller here leaves it at your front door and good luck with that.If you ever sell the house where you've put this desk, have it convey with the house. It's pretty much unmovable once assembled because if you try and lift it with the top, you'll rip the top right off. It would not be worth the price to disassemble the thing to move it, buy another one and hope your house buyer wants the one you have.

Great home office desk

I have doubt about the quality while putting it together, it is made of particle board with laminate, so needs to be handled with care, but once done the desk felt very sturdy with 'executive' look, the black melamine inlay is a great design to provide a smooth surface that is spill and scratch resistance. The color is darker cherry which helps hide any minor scratch better. I paid less than 200 on sale, I also get the matching bookcases, totally satisfied with how my home office looked, highly recommended if u are on a budget.

This desk looks very nice, and has a good size, if you are not Do it yourself type of person, this could be a bit complicated for you to assembly
