5static phaser
By David Godfrey
I received the "stunt" or "static" phaser w/in a week of my order, in excellent condition. It is exactly as described by the vender and other customers' comments (NOTE: If you wish to see this or any other sci-fi products closer, get a detailed description, and explaination/demonstration of the product by other "collectors", look for it on You Tube). The product comes in an attractive box, and is encased in form-fitting styrofoam, as is the stand. The phaser or "prop" has no moving parts (However, a "modified" version allowing you to spin the nozzle, or gun's barrel, from kill to stun, is also demonstrated on You Tube. Unfortunately the video does not show how modify it).The phaser easily slips on the stand for presentation. The phaser itself looks great, and has some heft to it, weighing between 1.5 to 2 lbs and is adult-sized, about 7 - 8 inches long. It is coated completely in metal and nicely colored. It looks more expensive then it is, and therefore worth the price. Since it has no moving part and is encased in metal, it's very durable. However, I recommend displaying it in a bookself or curio cabinet, simply because this looks like it should by displayed. Finally, these manufactures are beginning to produce sci-fi collector's items for "adults" at a reasonable price. Thank you Quantum Mechanix

2Display ONLY - Shoddy Construction & VERY fragile
By Trevor
I purchased this item for Halloween - I thought it would make an excellent prop for my "red shirt" costume. Unfortunately, at one point I had to lean down and grab something off the floor, and the phaser fell off my belt 2 feet to the ground. Instead of clacking and potentially chipping like I would have expected from a plastic toy, the Phaser EXPLODED into 6 large pieces, and somewhere in the area of 10 small pieces (some of which I was never able to recover due to their size.) I was able to glue most of it back into it's original shape with super glue, but it now looks even more shoddy than it originally did.On that note, in it's original mint condition it had glue marks where pieces had been attached, and even a big glue fingerprint where someone handled the fake chrome painted onto the bottom half of the device with a gluey finger. On top of this, some pieces were haphazardly attached and slightly crooked in the original construction phase. Call my picky, but hey this is a DISPLAY product - I'm not mad it wasn't durable enough to survive upon my careless slip-up (I only mention this for those thinking of buying it for children, or so those who do purchase this item are very careful with it,) but if it's going to be THAT fragile, it should at least look outstanding.Overall, I don't think I got what I paid for at around 50-60 dollars (I used the 35 dollar reseller - Redford Films,) which charged a whopping 23 dollars for expedited shipping - I asked them to refund the entire order when I had realized there was a cheaper option - they told me the item had NOT shipped yet (in fact, they only received my order 45 minutes before my calling them,) but because they "processed" the order, they were going to refuse me a full refund. My only option was to take the item, or return it and incur a loss of my original shipping cost (which was around 40% of the cost of the item) as well as an additional "restocking fee", which they decided not to tell me the amount of in order to dissuade me. If you are going to buy this item, I recommend you steer clear of this reseller. They got my item to me on time, but they are not interested in serving their customers before themselves (even if the request is perfectly reasonable.)In my opinion, I should have purchased the 80 dollar alternative phaser here on Amazon.com that was better constructed and even included sound effects (maybe also lights, I can't recall exactly on that note, though.) I wanted something cheaper, and boy did I learn my lesson! Dropping it was on me, but the original construction was certainly on the manufacturer.

5Quantum Mechanix Star Trek Movie 2009 Phaser Stunt Replica
By Pat267
I must admit that all reviews made previously on product are true. Replica looks great a far, and the construction is very sturdy and well made. Only thing is, as its STUNT, then it has no actual movements, its really just for show or exhibition. Great would be if it would be FX! :)Its already placed on my shelf next to all my movie memorabilia.
