I love my Dometic RV refrigerator

First the Amazon Prime review. They get 5+ stars. They were more than great. My refrigerator was damaged in shipping by FedEx. I filed a claim, they denied it and Amazon was out of stock and offered to take it back and pay the shipping. A week later, Amazon got another one in stock and after a very pleasant conversation with a CS rep, Amazon shipped me a brand new one, in perfect condition, which arrived (much to my surprise) at 10 am the very next morning delivered by UPS. Amazon sent a UPS tag to return the damaged unit. FedEx vs. UPS, you be the judge.The refrigerator is very well made, it's easy to install and works very well. It is easy to switch from one power source to another after the propane line is evacuated of air. The controls are accessed from outside through the lower vent panel.Mine was a new installation which required cutting vent holes in the outside wall of my trailer and building a cabinet to hold the refrigerator. This was the hardest part and requires some carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. I couldn't find the Dometic vent on Amazon so I bought them from the Scamp Trailer company ($50 w/shipping). If you are just replacing an existing unit, the installation should be very straightforward. If you are replacing an icebox, you will need the above mentioned skills.It is surprising just how much food it holds. Turning it all the way up will freeze some of the items. Not having shelves in the door is not a big deal. This unit has .2 cubic feet more space than the leading competitor (about the size of a 6 pack), and worth the extra money.The only complaint I have is that it stops working (gets warm inside) when the outside air temp drops below freezing. I keep a thermometer inside and when the temp outside was 20 degrees it was 50 degrees inside the refrigerator. This is because of the way that this refrigerator (and all RV refrigerators) work. This process is explained quite well on a number of websites (Google "how RV refrigerators work"). They turn heat into cold and when it is really cold outside and the rear cooling unit, which is exposed to the outside air, gets cold it can not develop enough heat. This is only a problem if you camp in the winter. I discussed this issue with Dometic CS. They said this is a normal condition and suggested that "opening the door a little" might help.
