Legend 2B trombone, The King Model 2102L is known as the Jiggs Whigham model in honor of the renowned international artist who prefers it. The 2102L is a straight .491" (12.47mm) bore, lightweight version of the 2B. The slide assembly is designed and constructed so that its weight is kept to a minimum. This reduction in weight allows remarkable facility in rapid passages and reduces player fatigue on long gigs. The 2102L features a 7-3/8" (187mm) yellow brass bell and nickel silver outer slide tubes, and it comes with a King 12C mouthpiece and deluxe covered case.

good product and good service

This instrument is exactly what I was expecting: a high quality light weight narrow bore trombone, suitable for jazz jead work. I bought it because of its reputation for allowing expressiveness, and I can confirm that it does indeed enable a lot of individual expression. I would only recommend this instrument for advanced players though. This is because a trade-off for being so expressive is that you have to pitch very accurately to hit notes cleanly all the time.I was particularly pleased to find that it maintains great tone even in the lower registers, which is amazing for such a narrow bore light weight trom. However, what delighted me most was the Jiggs Wigham 1A mouthpiece that came with it. I was anticipating a King 12C, but the Jiggs 1A is much better. I let the rest of my big band trombone section try out both the trom and the mouthpiece in their own instruments. One guy whose tone has never been the best on his own instrument sounded fantastic on this one, and every member of the section has now ordered a Jiggs 1A mouthpiece.I also like the high quality King trombone case. It is tough and functional.Finally, the instrument arrived here in New Zealand within the estimated timeframe. It was well packed and suffered no damage in transit. Thank you Kohn Music Store.
