My two dogs, one 3 lbs and one 4 lbs fit with room to spare and it was easy to pull around the airport while traveling.

I loved it. I got my Australian Terrier (18 lb) used to the carrier months before it was needed. He loved riding in it around the airport. I did have to remind him often to stay centered in the carrier because it would tip over if he didn't stay centered while being wheeled around. We traveled to FL by Southwest airlines for the AKC agility invitational this past Dec. We had no trouble boarding the plane. The carrier fit under the seat much easier than I had anticipated. I tried fitting it under something at home that was 8 and1/4 inches high and the fit was very tight for my dog but doable. When I got on the plane and put the carrier under the seat there was more height room than advertised. The front inch or so did stick out from under the seat, but no one said anything to me about it. My large purse had to go under the seat next to me because of not enough room next to the carrier.

Love the wheels, and the multiple entry points. It is very roomy but does stick out from under the airplace seat by about 2 inches.
