The locket weighs 0.26 ounces (7.5 grams), measures approximately 3/4 inch (18.54 mm) in diameter and approximately 3/8 inch (9.39 mm) thick. The locket is stamped "925" to designate the quality Sterling Silver content (92.5% pure silver). This locket comes in a high quality hinged gift box. I ordered this straight from the Stanley London website because they offer the option to engrave, which I'm not sure if they do through amazon.com. Anyhow, there was a bit of an issue with the spacing of the engraving, they contacted me minutes after placing my order, the issue was corrected and I received the item within days!As far as the compass locket, as the gift-er, I am very happy with it & I expect the gift-ee will be also.I would definitely order from them again. I love this necklace! The swirling design is beautiful and the locket is the perfect size for me. I was concerned it was too small when I opened the package, but it turned out perfect - not too small as to go unnoticed and not too large to be in the way. People have commented that it's a lovely necklace and I take great joy in saying, "Thanks! Look, it's a compass too!" - that gets various reactions based on how geo-geek the commenter is. Bottom line - it's beautiful, excellent quality, unique and functional.
