While some ski helmet manufacturers are content to copy the designs created by their competition, POC takes technology and safety innovations in a new direction with their proven and successfully Skull X Ski Helmet. This ski helmet features POC's Bone Shell, a tough and selectively rigid combination of ABS/PC that deconstructs during heavy impacts, absorbing more of the energy than many conventional ski helmet designs. Inside the POC Skull X Ski Helmet is an Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) liner that doesn't permanently deform on impact, so it's better at absorbing the repetitive shocks that sometimes occur during high-speed, multi-impact ski falls in steep mountain terrain. EPP liners are more effective at absorbing energy from multiple impacts than the traditional EPS foam liners found in traditional helmets. Other refinements include aluminum grid penetration guards on the front vent openings and an LD Foam padded inner lining that can be removed and changed or cleaned after repeated use.

Nice Lid!

Not that i was being cheap with my sons head, but i always found it hard to spend twice as much for a helmet that didnt have any higher ratings than other brand name lids. But after a pretty scary incident with an out of control snowboarder at Bear Creek resort I decided to spend the money. The sizing chart was spot on to start with. The fit was excellent and according to my boy, the feel is way better than anything hes ever had. It was yet to be rated for cold weather performance but if his little buddies are any indication, they never complained.

A comfortable, warm and good looking helmet. Love the color orange and it fits really well with my orange goggles.

It has taken me a lot to get junto a helmet for skiing. After years of racing back in the olden days with our motor cross helmets, I was skeptical as I had been more injured by heavy helmets than helped. I bought a RED helmet a few years back that never really fit right. I caved and bought a POC helmet before giving up completely. After having my son, want t be a good roll model and I want him in a helmet.These are great helmets. It fits my head really well, is super comfortable, the ear cutouts keep my ears from hurting (another issue with my last helmet), and the ventilation is great to keep my head from getting to hot. It is also really lightweight.The only downside? The white helmet makes me feel a bit like a Spaceball!
