5These are great!
By Emily
I was very unsure when I purchased this product if it was what I wanted. I am so glad that I gave it a try. I don't usually write reviews, but I really could have used some good reviews when I was considering this. Why I bought this:1. I live in NYC and anything space-saving and multi-purpose is great.2. I wanted an organic mattress, but could't really afford it, so I think going for something smaller is generally better for the environment than bigger (mattress, boxspring, bed frame)3. My husband and I co-sleep with our baby and we wanted a King size (approximately) bed without taking up so much space. Also, this is low to the ground, so no need to worry about baby falling off of it.Why this is so great:1. It is VERY comfortable. I was concerned that it would be like sleeping on the floor, but it is not at all. It is like sleeping on a comfortable and firm mattress. I love it and so does my husband. We are on the skinny side, so I'm not sure how it would be for heavier people.2. Perfect for co-sleeping. We bought three and I'm pretty sure that ends up being larger than King-sized. Baby tosses and turns and it does not bother me (light sleeper) at all.3. During the day we fold them up and it makes a nice futon to sit on and increases baby's play-space on the floor. I also like the way they look folded up. It looks simple and nice. I usually think futons are ugly.4. When baby moves to his own room, we can send him along with one of the futons and the two we have in our room will be perfect for my husband and I.One thing I do not know is how long they will last. We have been using them for about 1 month. I hope they last many years.

1Unusable
By Kagome USA
We ordered this futon for our son's room, because he occasionally has nightmares and instead of having him in bed with us, we thought it might be nice if we could go into his room to lie down to help soothe him. When this futon arrived, I thought it was interesting because it came in such a TINY box - I thought I had ordered the wrong item. Actually, it turns out that it was just vacuum-packed with all the air sucked out. As soon as you open the plastic bag, the futon "inflates" to full-size. It was kind of cool to watch.Colorwise, the futon was perfect. Size-wise, it is pretty thin, and I wouldn't use it on a hard floor, but it would probably be fine on a carpeted floor. I was very pleased with the way it folded up.Unfortunately, however, it STUNK. The futon had an extremely strong chemical smell. I do not know what smelled, whether it was the foam, the cover, or the vacuum-sealing process (and the bag it was sealed in) but within moments, the entire room I was in smelled very strongly. My husband even commented on it when he came home hours later. So we moved the futon to a very open and airy room, opened it entirely, and aired it out for a week. I would have liked to try airing it outdoors, but it rained the whole week and I didn't want the moisture to ruin the foam - I have no idea if airing it outside would have done the trick, but airing it inside did not. At the end of a week, the futon itself smelled as strongly as ever. Both my husband and I gagged when we smelled it, so we were absolutely never going to put it in our child's room.As an extra complication, the "inflated" futon was now 4 times its original shipping size. This wouldn't have been a problem, except that the company refused to cover any of the return shipping costs. Since there was no way to return it in the box it had come in, it ended up costing more than half of the cost of the futon itself to ship it back.I am shocked everyone else has rated this futon so highly. Perhaps I had a dud, or mine was chemically-compromised somehow. Certainly this sort of thing happens, but the company did not stand behind it and offer to replace it at their cost, so we'll never know.

5Shikibuton Trifold Foam Bed
By L. Michelle
I LOVE these! I had spinal surgery within the last year, and sleeping on beds or couches hurts my back tremendously. I feel much more comfortable sleeping on the floor, but my husband hates that. So, we decided to put our bed away and try these. They completely exceed our expectations. They're firm enough for me to be comfortable, and soft enough for him to be comfortable. We both sleep wonderfully; you can't feel the floor under your at all. So, the foam has just the right amount of give. One of the best things is that when you or your spouse rolls over in the middle of the night, it doesn't cause any movement. So, you're not waking each other up. I've been sleeping 100% better since I started sleeping on these, and it takes me less then 2 minutes to lay down at night and pick them up in the morning. I'm a fan!
