Serious protection for a serious amp!

The Genz Benz Shenandoah SHEN-CPK-8T 300-Watt 1 x 8 Inches Acoustic Guitar Amplifier is an amazing acoustic guitar amp but its delicate speakers and electronics need protection in route to your gigs. And the AMP-SAC-SM provides substantial protection with thick closed-cell foam enclosed in luggage grade ballistic nylon, heavy duty zippers and textured rubber mats beneath for a sure grip on the ground. The appointments are simple: a fat pocket for cables and small electronics, a flat pocket for scores, a grab handle topside and a light duty 1.5" strap with barely padded shoulder pad. Luckily the strap is attached with a beefy metal D-ring and easily upgraded with a better strap. I happen to have a Klein 58889 Padded Adjustable Shoulder Strap with matching hardware, 2" seatbelt webbing strap and a grippy and well padded shoulder pad, so I'm a happy camper.Exterior fit and finish are very good. It is emblazoned with the Genz Benz logo in white and it wouldn't be difficult to dye black if it bothers you. The interior has a TKL case company tag so we know who really made it (Genz Benz & TKL are both KMC/Fender companies). Interior construction is a notch or two below the exterior's quality: loose threads, rough seams and the fabric on the zipper's end is roughly cut and not sealed with a stitch. The interior is lined with smooth nylon fabric. The closed-cell foam lining can be removed (velcro seam) if you want a slimmer profile. And, yes, this is a bulky and somewhat heavy gig bag, resembling a stealthy picnic cooler! Of course it can take some serious knocks and is tougher than the typical soft side suitcase. It measures 14.5"H x 12"W x 12.5"D, so will probably fit in most airline overheads (haven't tried yet).And, yes, the SHEN-CPK-8T fits very well: snug but not too tight. Fully loaded it is bulky and heavy, so mere morals will want to use a cart for all but short distances.One of the things I like about the Genz Benz company is they make products to enhance the performances of everyday gigging musicians. Designing a powerful amp small enough to carry from cheap parking to your gig is a big deal. And designing the Amp Sac to help you carry that gear shows serious thought went into designing a system and rather than a bunch of disconnected components. The thin strap and messy sewing on the interior are the reasons I deducted a star from the otherwise great amp gig bag. Albeit pricy, this amp gig bag is worth the bread, is easily transportable and offers significant protection from nasty weather and knocks.
