Product Description
The Benchmade 5000 has a 154-CM satin finish BK1-Coated blade. The black anodized, machined 6061 T-6 aluminum handle features milled ribs that add gripability to the already contoured handle. The AXIS lock system makes the knife easier (and faster) to open and close. 420J stainless steel liners and a reversible steel carry-clip which can be reversed for right or left handers. It’s an unbeatable duplicate of the Benchmade automatic Model 5000 Auto AXIS, but in a Manual version! BK1 coating provides excellent corrosion protection, which exceeds the ASTM-117 spec for saltwater while possessing higher scratch resistance.

One word... Gorgeous!!

This knife as with most Benchmade knives are just beautifully crafted. This is the reason why Benchmade is probably my favorite knife maker.Some mite view this knife as a bit pricey or mite see others that look similar for 1/3 the price. One has to hold this knife and play with it for a while to understand why it costs this much. This knife is just beautiful. The craftsmanship that went into this knife is just a work of art.Everything from the handles comfort, the metal used, the opening mechanism, and the weight of this knife is what separates this knife to other knives which cost 1/3 of the price. After spending some time playing with this knife one could easily see that this is a knife you will have for years maybe even a lifetime. The only way you will ever need another folding knife after this one is if you loose it, sell it, or give it away.When ever i buy a knife which to me is one of the most useful tools out there, i usually buy a knife that will never fail on me. This is how i originally found this beauty. IMO, it would be a huge mistake if you bought a knife for when you really needed it and the knife failed on you. There is no doubt in my mind this knife will never fail me and will be by my side for years to come.If you are on the market for the best folding knife one could ask for, buy this with confidence. You will not regret it!

The description mentions the 5000 model number---which is the AUTOMATIC versionThis is the 520 MANUAL version---but its priced as if it were the 5000Don't be fooled----you can get this much cheaper---I have multiple versions of each and never even paid this much for a 5000They are excellent knives though---just don't pay too much.

The way all knives in this price range should be made-impeccable!If you spend upwards of 200 dollars for a knife, it better be damn good.This knife is better than damn good. In just plain kicks ass!
