Product Description
The Benchmade 527 series has a 440C blade (plain). The BT2-Coated drop point blade featured ambidextrous thumb-studs. The handles are textured Noryl GTX (tough and lightweight!) over a steel frame. The 527 line has the AXIS lock system which makes the knife easier (and faster) to open and close. The pocket clip can be reversed for right or left handers. A smaller version of the Benchmade 522. The BT2 Coating is Xylan-based to provide excellent corrosion resistance which exceeds the ASTM-117 spec for saltwater and increases overall surface lubricity.

One third of the holy trinity!

This knife is the epitome of value. For under $70.00, I got a 440C steel 2.97" blade, coated with B2 to prevent rust development, valox handles, and a HG edge that was crazy-sharp right out of the box. Reversible pocket clip which allows for left-handed carrying, and the patented axis lock that made me fall in love with Benchmade knives to begin with, complete this high-performance, sturdy, durable, work horse of a knife, making it the perfect EDC/utility knife choice for just about anybody. Even the lanyard hole is nice and wide, which makes it that much easier for us lanyard geeks to personalize this knife with some 550 cord. Let's also not forget the Benchmade guarantee of free blade sharpening for life (I pay for shipping, which is around $5.00). The icing on the cake is the fact that this knife was waiting on my door step less than 48hrs after I made the purchase and shipping was free. With this knife, Benchmade has earned its place among my favorite knife manufacturers. So stick with the holy trinity of knives, folks, BENCHMADE, KERSHAW, SPYDERCO, and you will not regret it.
