5HKTS60 5.1 Set
By Edino
I wanted to go for smaller speakers to replace my JBL Northridge 5.1 set, but not loose on the sound quality that huge box gives. Most of all I was not ready to shelve out the money to buy a high-end set. I initially went in the shop for a BOSE ACOUSTIMASS 15 home cinema speaker system. I always liked the size (small), and the overall reputation Bose has. The same shop was also selling Harman Kardon HKTS60 5.1 set and had a good opportunity to listen to both of them next to each other. The shop demo room was very spacious, just like my living room, so comparison was really possible. Long story short, I found the Harmon Kardon HKTS60 overachieving in the following 3 areas:1/ The bass. Its impressive; the sub-woofer is smaller than the Bose, looks better with its gloss finish, and sounds terrific; especially for movies you won't be sorry. For Music, blues is my favorite, BB King came out just I would expect!2/ The center speaker is much more crisp than the Bose, without the pain-full hissing.3/ The HKTS60 can go loud... so loud that even in a big room you will have ample reserves left to fill it with high quality sound. Definitely with a large room, the HK is a far better choice over the Bose, who is suited smaller rooms only. So, last month I walked out with the HKTS60 and enjoy every minute of this quality product. Highly recommended!

5over kill
By RapStar
This product is serious. I have they mounted to the wall w/ inwall wires, WOW! It looks like 1990 lamp posts. They are tall, shiny, massive speakers. They feel very heavy. I dropped one and kicked the other on accident already and no damage yet.The sound quality is 12/10. The mid-range sounds explode. The seperation of instruments and voice w/ background noise is huge. It adds pleasant sound waves no matter where you are in the room. My living room is on the left side of the room. 18 feet to the right of the speakers, the sound carries flawlessly.5 stars and I don't give out stars that easily. Best Buy tried to sell me a la carte speakers, claiming there is no comparison! hahahahahahahNEVER LISTEN TO BEST BUY Sales Managers or GEEK SQUAD! Annoying people that LIE and contradict themselves. First they loved Monster cables, now they love AudioQuest. They will sleep with any company that charges huge margins. $200 cables that were the best last year that are "GOING TO BE THE BEST FOR DECADES" become garbage once they stop selling them. The only Best Buy loves, is what is on there floor. Once it is sold out or they no longer carry that item, it is considered GARBAGE or a WASTE of Money. While the product is on there floor, it is considered a "MUST BUY, NO BRAINER, MUST PURCHASE, WORTH THE MONEY, NOT GOING TO REGRET IT!"

5High quality compact speakers to use with Onkyo NR-TX809
By Ricardo A. S. Batista
I actually have a Sony 5.1 sound set that has broken. I'm upgrading this old system. In a home theater or even in a cinema I give more worth to the sound than the image.I tested the HKTS60 5.1 system in my daughter's home, in Hawaii, where I got it. The room is a 22 x 13 ft. We (me, my son in law, my daughter, their friends...) played games, listened to the music and watched full HD movies in different sounds input. The sound is great without apparent distortion even when used aloud. I'm going to Brazil and I'll use the set Onkyo NR-TX809 (I bought along with the speakers on Amazon too) and HKTS60 in a smaller sized room than that one I've tested the set. I intend to use the set with no the end power but to listen to the sound with high quality in medium volume, for while. I'm buying this set to use for more than 4 years and I intend to move it to my old home in other city where the room is similar to the first one I've tested. So the speakers have to be small and fairly powerfull. I'm going to use a 7.1 set so I bought 2 more speakers directly from HK, because Amazon doesn't sell, for now, the Model 60 speakers separately.I really had a fight with Harman Kardon to buy the 2 speakers but I won and by now I have a 7.1 set not tested yet. I did not like the service to buy direct from HK.I'll update this review as soom as possible so I have installed the set in my home in Brazil. For while I'm very please with the whole set, ie, receiver and speakers. The price on Amazon is also excellent, the best I found in my research.Harman Kardon HKTS60 Complete 5.1 Home-Theater Speaker System (Black)Onkyo TX-NR809 THX Certified 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver (Black)
